what price falcons when 1pt in front final 2 mins ?
they gifted Jets the game. Rookie QB with confidence issues following last week and they drop into that silly zone defence and let him make easy 10yd throws (which we could make) to get 3 easy first downs and easily into field goal range. Go Jets ![]() |
By:
I think after Atlanta went 1pt ahead they came in to about 1.25 then the market adjusted and was almost 1.4 by the time they kicked off.
Not sure they ever established what happened on that final pass interference play? The number called by the ref was the guy marking Rodgers but he didn't appear to do anything. The two guys on Gonzalez were simply blocking and didn't appear to do anything wrong either. Does anyone know what the foul was for? Calls like that are incredibly suspicious in my opinion, essentially the whole game was on the line there as it's either Jets ball or 1st & Goal Falcons. Hopefully the NFL has an investigation behind the scenes, but publicly it will be swept under the carpet of course. |

By:
I thought at first it was good defensive play by the jets, they were doubling him up all night, worked fairly well as cromartie is good enough to keep jones quiet...It looked as if they were just blocking but on 2nd glance they were wrestling tony G,just my opinion. But in general the calls against defensive players is becoming a joke, desperate teams just bomb it long looking for flags
By:
Cromartie got away with some dark arts on the attempted TD bomb to Jones. There were also two very soft offensive PI called against Atlanta. We got what we deserved though for leaving points on the field at HT: defeat.

NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY MATTY ICE WAITS TILL THE END TO DO WHAT HE DOES. IT WILL ONLY WORK FOR SO LONG

By:
ICS, I normally think coaches are too conservative but in that instance I thought they should have taken the 3 points. In that game situation (10pts down) the 3pts would have got them within one score and also one of the main benefits of going for it on 4th & goal is you leave the opponents in bad field position if you fail, which of course does not apply on the stroke of half time.
By:
I want 3 pts there. Same last week against the Pats. You fail you send the opposition in with their lead intact and high from the defensive stop. Still, season over, we'll do well to make 0.500 from here! Always next year!
By:
John Gruden just finished saying if stevie jackson was on the field he would run it up the gut but with someone weighing around 40lbs less they decide to run it down the middle against one of the best defences in these situations,at that stage it had to be the 3pts,so much time on the clock
By:
Yeah, it was a bad call. I think Rodgers and Snelling have done a decent enough job running, but there's a time and a place, that wasn't it.
Looks like Julio Jones might be out for the season. We need a full free agency and draft on O-Line and D to make the team more balanced, at the moment the house is on the skill positions and QB who gets about one second per throw, what throws is he going to be able to make with a 280 lb pass rusher on top of him every play. The value of the QB, receivers and RB increases the better the O Line. Can't cut that corner. |
By:
after the QB the O line is the most important area imo, even average receivers will get open when the QB is given time
By:
Yep, definitely. Might as well start prepping for next season. I wouldn't be leaving Ryan in to get battered late season against the meaner pass rushes either that's for sure.
By:
For me the falcons have looked lost all season, jackson injury didn't help but they have looked a team without any urgency,Tony G has been very good as usual, wonder if he will come back for another season,he said that last year hoping they could have a go this year.
By:
they look like a team that gave it everything last year
tbh, last year they weren't that great and had a soft schedule and got big turnovers at the right time in games |
By:
I think that is something most people did point out that they had a soft schedule and they did, they were always going to be tricky to beat at home thought and they did what they had to last season and beat what was in front of them, took out seattle and had a good lead v the niners before class told. Young cornerbacks this season, always tough. As inner city says,no protection for ryan
By:

>>>Without question. That is exactly how I would build a team from scratch. Last nights game showed what a weapon a big body, tall WR is though. |
By:
look at rivers this season,he was being crushed last year, bit of protection and his numbers are well up without all these star receivers
