Couple of lines stand out so far based on the first 2 games of the season
Falcons +2.0 @ Dolphins I don't really understand how the Dolphins are favourites here. Even based on the 2 games so far I would still pick the Falcons over the Dolphins every time. Getting points is a bonus here.
Lions +1.5 @ Redskins As above, I would have the Lions as the better team here although they do have a tendency to screw it up at times. The Redskins are really struggling to get anything going at the moment and getting the points are a bonus here again IMO.
Packers -2.0 @ Bengals The Bengals defence is not that good that they are going to be able to stop the Packers from scoring a lot of points here - at least 30 I reckon and I can't see Andy Dalton et al living with them here.
Bears -2.0 @ Steelers This is only the 6th time that the Steelers will be home underdogs in 11 seasons. They won 5 of those 6 games outright (only loss was the 13-10 defeat to Ravens last year). However, given the state of the franchise at the moment, it's hard to see them doing anything here, especially against a Bears defence that should be able to get to Big Ben almost at will.
are we all still scratching our heads at miami being favs?
yeah well the pats must improve. youd think. cant see em winning many road games though. got atlanta, cincy, carolina, houston, baltimore on the road. right now they dont look like winning any of em. may not need to like, 9-7 could easily win the division. and 2nd seed the way the afc is going!

was there any point jacksonville turning up this week?
be funny if the seattle superbowl price drops the whole world knows jacksonville are the biggest pile of the crap the nfl has seen for ages. 0-16 could be on the radar!

kicking myself for not betting on the under 5.5 jaguars wins for the season. 1.7 must be the gift of the century. there wasnt much money up though. never in a million years win 6 games. they only won 2 last season and if anything they look even worse!
yeah thats true. the 9ers wont lose though

Wow just seen the replay of the titans last gasp win, painful for the chargers backers... like the carolina game last week, that was indeed a size nine to the bollox

HARRY22 22 Sep 13 22:34 agree afc pathetic, colts are one of the afc contenders, that is how bad it is
------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bit early to say this,
....obviously escaped some on here notice that the afc currently leads the nfc 9-1 in inter-conference matches this year

average standard yes,but the top 5 teams in the nfc far stronger, this is because they think texans are the 2nd best team in afc again, this says it all

HARRY22 22 Sep 13 23:09 saints and seattle unbeaten, atlanta only loss to saints, niners lost to seattle, these are the main contenders so that stat not relevant
------------------------------------------------------------------ FFS Harry, - I'll pick and choose my teams and stats to make my point.....all others are meaningless?

this is the worst patriots team in years, the last few years they have been favs to win it and fallen short, the price now is still ridiculously short, apart from denver the contenders are very weak.

- The "afc is pathetic" remark is a bit wide of the mark (especially since they lead the nfc head-to-head 9-1 atm!) - The which conference is stronger is pointless - average standard is the same contenders - Superbowl Contenders - Currently? Broncos, Patriots, 49ers, Seahawks, Packers, Falcons, Saints, (I don't think Texans are). So 4-2 Nfc.....ya-de-dah, teams will come from nowhere from either conference...(by the way Bengals just beat one of the big NFC "contenders"). This could and will probably change. Could be 4-4, 1-6....who knows
Also, if Denver Broncos win the Superbowl, it doesn't mean anything about afc/nfc, likewise if Seahawks win in terms of nfc/afc
I'm saying the following:- The "afc is pathetic" remark is a bit wide of the mark (especially since they lead the nfc head-to-head 9-1 atm!)- The which conference is stronger is pointless - average standard is the same contenders - Superbowl Contende
Harry, please stop with your big pronouncements......week 3 FFS.

Toughest game is the saints but that is at home, then the niners game away but they should be in better form than they are now. Seattle last season had all the tough teams at home.

This colts offence will only get better, colts and bengals could easily knock off this average patriots team in the playoffs, expect bengals and colts to make the playoffs

They have the worst winning record of any team in games within 7pts. I think they are just nervous and will overcome. They played great against the bills apart from the final drive. Bills never ahead until 2 seconds left!

NFC Contenders: packers lose to afc browns 49ers lose to afc bengals falcons lose to afc dolphins
Childish, I know, but couldn't resist
Anyway:-
Don't really back SB winner early on, but its close to 3 weeks in, for me (I'm ruling out 11 teams, so since its the NFL, 21 contenders!!!)
Only two cast-iron contenders:- Broncos, Seahawks If get to play-offs then can win it all:- Packers, 49ers, Patriots, Strong chance of getting there, but don't think will win (could, but not for me):- Saints, Falcons, Texans, Play-off contenders - NFL anyone could do it:- Cowboys, Eagles, NY Giants, Panthers, Lions, Dolphins, Ravens, Bengals, Steelers, Colts, Titans, Chiefs, Chargers.......(expect at least 2 of these to get some sort of momentum come January) Better than people think, but too flawed :- Bucs, Rams, Cardinals, Raiders Will not meaningfully contend:- Redskins, Bears, Vikings, Jets, Bills, Browns, Jags
A personal view, of course.....love watching it unfold.
