Jets are finished as long as Ryan insists on using Sanchez , what made them take Tebow in the close season is anyone's guess , should have tried to pick up a Russell Wilson type of player in the draft and they could have used him when Sanchez failed.

As far as Fireman Ed goes , I think the story is that he wears his shirt with Sanchez on the back and has been getting so much grief from the fans around him over it that he said he was in danger of getting himself arrested , so he's decided the best course of action is just to come and watch the games and not lead the chants and be a figurehead etc.

I see he's 'retired', for the reasons you mention, Priest. I believe Sanchez' father is an ex-fireman and this is part of the reason Ed Anzalone tried to show his support.

Did he close the door on the way out ?

As for Sanchez people slaughtering him ,there are many more
problems than just Mark ..

The SanBow System was never going to work ,and whats more 90 %
of Jets fans said it was a no go ,no one listened Shocked..

The thing i don't understand about Sanchez is that his mechanics look awful , he can't seem to throw a perfect ball that you see spinning like they do and fizzing through the air , he surely must have had a better looking throw in college so don't know what's gone wrong for him.

In terms of QBing, he breaks down under pressure: mechanically and mentally.

Sanchez doesn't have anyone to throw it to at the moment and no strong run game to fall back on, and he doesn't go through his progressions well - he needs a simple gameplan and a run game that can set up the pass - hardly a unique flaw, admittedly.

He does have a decent pass - not perhaps in terms of arm strength, but he can get the ball to the right spot when it should get there, but again, he needs receivers who run tight, disciplined routes. His mental approach also makes him prone to throwing picks and daft turnovers. You can tell when his game is breaking down, because he tends to shove the ball, pushing a pass rather than throwing it (Philip Rivers does the same, but I suspect that's a physical problem)
