is their Achilles heel. They can`t keep on scoring 30+ points every game, or can they? Once they come up against a real good defence they`ll be in trouble.
Not been as good this year, but it depends what you look at - they lead the league on interceptions i believe - agressive defense leads into racking up a few in the process

I think their defence is fine personally, but the only decent D they might face in the NFC half of the playoffs is San Fran. Even if Alex Smith was effective versus the 3-4,he won't be able to keep up with Rogers.
As to whichever of the AFC defences they might face in the SB, I'd say they're better suited to the demands of dome play than any of them other than Houston, who are literally falling apart.

Good point made on total access..not sure who mentioned it...the packers are giving up a lot more pts because they are scoring so quickly that opposition teams have to try and keep up by going through the air more often which is leading to big plays against them.

before that great run they went on starting at home to the giants last season they were not putting up big points yet they were not conceding...now they are scoring pts for fun you are seeing teams having to change game plan.

Packers have a few problems defensively and are playing nowhere near as well as what they did down the stretch last year but the main problem imo is the lack of a pass rush......find that and it covers up a lot.

It matters because, imo, the Packers offense won`t be able to continue racking up points for 19 games, particularly when they eventually come up against a very good defence, whereas their defence will always give up points, even to teams with an average offense.

It's no fluke that they've won 17 straight, or are they all against teams with poor D? They've beaten the Falcons at their supposed fortress (twice), the Bears in Chicago, the Lions in Detroit (much vaunted D until that Thanksgiving game, the Vick's Eagles in Philly twice in 2010). The only side they not beaten is the Patriots and yet they almost did in NE without Rodgers and half of their team on IR in 2010.
It's not as if they haven't come up against good defence before, they came up against the best defences last year ie the Jets in NY, and Steelers in the Bowl, sure the Jets kept them down to just 9 points, unfortunately Sanchez and Co. scored a big fat zero!
The thing is about the Packers, when will they come up against a defence which can stop Rodgers and his 5 or 6 high class receivers? The Ravens, 49ers and Jets may not concede so many points, but you're relying on Flacco, Smith and Sanchez to out gun Rodgers, a big ask.
It's easy to pick fault with the amount of points and big plays they concede, but if you take last night's game for example, its the turnovers they created that turned the game their way. (Would've been even more points had Crosby not missed an easy FG).
Is there any team that will go to Lambeau when they secure home field advantage and beat them? I don't think so, and when you have a QB that can move the ball so easily against the clock and without a huddle, pinning them down is virtually impossible.
For me if they're going to lose it'll be against a team with a top grade QB who can score lots of points and manage the clock, namely Brees, Brady or Big Ben. not a team with a good defence.
Was there anyone last night who looked at the 1 min remaining at 35 - 35 and thought that Rodgers wouldn't get GB within FG range?
I'm guessing not.

The Packers problem is Rodgers - the guy is so good he rarely takes more than 3 or 4 mins to go down the field, the Packers never take 5+ mins off the clock which means their Defence often spends more time on the field than their Offence which is unbelievable for a 12-0 team. Blame Rodgers - the bloke is ruining the sport....

Mind you cj,

One aspect of the Packers' D you should bear in mind imo, is the take aways they create. Because Rodgers gets them out ahead early, or even because teams feel they must put up points, you'll frequently find opposing QBs forcing the ball in, or you'll see routes getting jumped.
The likelihood is that the Packers will score off the turnover and in general, the team that wins the turnover battle, wins the game. Green Bay is second to SF in that margin stat.
That sort of ball hawking can pay off in the TD market too.

Gray, to my shame i haven't a penny on them. After taking 20s last term, i ducked the 7-1, and thought i'd get involved after the Saints game, and then got spooked again by the price after that shoot out at Lambeau (and now 7s looks massive!) However, i do have a ticket on a a side to go unbeaten at 50s at WH, and seeing as only the Pats, Steelers, Eagles (lol) and Pack had a chance it was an interest in them so to speak.
Ah yes o'Neill, my god i'll be all night. In short, you'll have a great time with him as boss, he improves average players, he'll spot and sign great talent but will also waste millions on utter rubbish. You can fall behind in a game and know that all is not lost, players really scrap for him, but he'll also do some mystifying things which have no rhyme or reason. Just remember he loves to spend money and he's a total control freak. Just hope it never dries up, because if it does, and he sees his managerial reputation possibly getting damaged by financial shackles, he'll walk away at the drop of hat. He's got one cold heart that's for sure!

Cheers CJ.........50'S ...i'll just have to stick with the 7's downovers......said after the opening night that they will meet again in the NFC championship game and seen nothing to change my mind.
The Saints do scare me though and think the're the biggest obstacle to the Packers repeating.
As for O'Neill he can't be as ignorant to the imbalance of his squad as the previous manager ......how he couldn't see what most other people could was shocking

Wow, 200-1! You're doing a good job on that voodoo doll of Manning! Indy will surely want no.1 pick after trying so hard to get it all season!
The 50-1 on a perfect season was highlighted on this forum, i thought it was a brilliant trading price as at least one team gets to double figure wins. I'm get very twitchy every Sunday i can assure you, and as a Packer fan, Sunday night was close to unbearable!

Spooky as hell either way.
