For a while it looked rocky, but we've made it. Happy

Just going to lay some favourites this week and hope for the best: Packers, Falcons, Browns, Buccs, Texans, Ravens, Jags, Chargers, 49ers.

Colts +8.0 seems the standout bet for me.

Think even if Collins is at QB he is good enough to keep it close especially if Foster isn't 100%.

Why are Tampa Bay so high to beat Detroit at home?

1.9 seems like a good price

Also the Panthers even with Newton should be able to run all over Arizona

Detroit took them down in a crucial game last year, costing TB a play-off spot.

Browns on moneyline screams mortgage job, (...cue me looking for a caravan next week).

Patriots -7 and the Jets -4 look the best two to me.

Interesting tweet from John Clayton this week: Two years ago, Cowboys starting OL had average age of 31.6. Last year, it was 31.2. This year's starting OL is 25.4 with two rookies

There will be serious pressure on Tony Romo if his OL doesnt hold out and i think the Jets will pound him week 1.

Another interesting tweet from him was: Talk about turnover. Pete Carroll has 43 new players on his 53 man roster from the 2010 and 2011 acquisitions.

Shirley its going to take a few games or even months for these players to get on the same wavelength and this season is going to be a rebuilding one for them, but i dont trust Alex Smith and the 49ers to cover 5.5 points enough to back them.

I wouldn't disagree with that tiny dave

Lots of personnel changes in the off season so I'm likely to be a bit cautious at the start of the season

Nilsson. Nice site which also works on my iPhone. Will we be having tips for individual matchups?

very tricky week this week. a lot of last year's top teams playing each other and consequently a lot of the dross playing each other too. always dodgy to bet before wk 4 or 5 anyway imvho. need some credible formlines, unless you just want to gamble, of course Happy

Those looking to get involved in the Bears/Falcs game you are probably aware that the field was declared unsafe for practice in August and they're not sure repairs have worked, expect a dry bare field which is likely to reduce big passing plays

Cheers horse, yeah after looking through everything to place my bets tonight i actually decided to go overs on the lions game instead.

Other than that it will be a small acca or 2 for this week. Plenty off time for better bets.

Warning especially for over players this weekend, looks like there are storms in Florida, Arizona, Cleveland and California plus rain along the North East (Baltimore, Washington, New York)
I'll be holding fire until forecasts become clearer

I got a free $50 from 5Dimes (American bookie) so I've done a $25 tease of Cleveland and SD, down to -1.5 and -4 respectively. Even money, seems quite good. I've also done a divisional treble of Pittsburgh/SD/Packers @ 3.81 on ****, which I'm quite confident on, especially looking at the Steelers' easy schedule. If they can win tomorrow then I'll be very pleased.

I'm very, veeeery tempted to back them at 2.1, against Flacco and a shaky O-line. I'll probably sleep on it and take them in the morning. I too like the Titans to win @ the Jags. IMO the Jags are disjointed, QB has been tossed in, he was drafted in '04 and since then he's only started seven games, there's got to be a reason for that. Hasslebeck is a competent QB and if things start to go wrong then he can just hand off to CJ. I also think that without the distraction of Vince Young the Titans might challenge the Texans for the division, maybe going 5-1 within the AFCS.

Totally agree re Steelers and your treble.
The Ohio match up is a difficult one to assess given the woes of both teams, I think Hillis could be the difference but throw in a possible thunderstorm and it's tough to call anything with confidence.

I'm trying to work out how Sporting Index have FG yards at 88-98 in the Ravens/Steelers game, unless the storms hit this line has to be way too low in a game that is often decided by a FG and OT isn't a million shot.
Small buy at 98 for me

This pitch is flat and 300 is chaseable against the Indian attack

Foster a no go vs Colts

KC main bet for me, Bills has to prove they can stop the run before I trust them, Dareus will help them but truly was awful against the run last year.

Rams should take care of the Dream Team too Plain

How are you H?

Liking the look of the Rams this year, if they can sort that back end out and Bradford can stay clear of the usual Sophomore slump, they could be a team to watch out for.
