They used ESPN classic to show Birmingham City on Thursday as they had the rights but also had another game on regular ESPN. So why not do the same this Saturday and shunt the MLB or CFB over.

California @ Oregon
ESPN 2am Oregon -23.5 Ever since the opening day loss to LSU Oregon have been racking up the points and hammering mediocre teams and tonight at home they have the opportunity to add to it. California kept the Ducks to their lowest points total last year of 15 points as the Ducks scraped out of Cal with a two point victory. 8 out of the last 11 between these teams have been decided by less than ten points. Cal have the 9th best rushing defense in football but they have been up against teams that rank in rushing 80th, 106th, 58th and Presbyterians stats are that bad ESPN wont even put them up! They will have faced nothing like what they are coming up against tonight. Oregon rank 6th rushing led by LaMichael James. He is averaging 153 yards rushing after being held to 58 against LSU. I expect plenty of little dump off passes to him tonight and let his explosive speed do the rest. Cal will score points tonight so its important for Oregon and especially their defence to get on top early and get a couple of stops.I can see Oregons offence scoring 48+ points so as long as the defence can keep Cal under 24 points they should cover the spread. Good Luck. |

Boise State @ Fresno State
ESPN 2am Boise State -20.5 Boise State and Kellen Moore travel to Fresno tonight to play a team who gave up 214 passing yards off only 8 completed passes in their last game against an Old Miss team who rank 108th in passing yards. If they give up them kind of big plays to Boise State tonight this will be a blowout. Boise won the same game last year 59-0. Fresnos only two wins this year have come against a 1-4 Idaho and North Dakota. Boise have started the year well with a perfect 4-0 start. Boise haven't covered the last two spreads of 28 points against Tulsa and Nevada. Even though they won their last game they slipped one place in the rankings, so tonight i think they are going to want to put on a show and put up big numbers. Kellen Moore had an off day last week going 19/33 for 142 yards with two interceptions but he had trouble against Nevada last year too and i cant see him having two off weeks in a row. The one worrying thing for Boise is in their last two games they have been outscored 24-7 in the 4th quarter so i think that Coach Peterson will have drilled into them the importance of finishing their games. If Boises defence gets on top early this could be a hammering. Good Luck. |

Anyone got any thoughts on the Texas / Oklahoma game? Sooners look a bit short at 1.25 to me.
|
|
By:
Looking at Teaxas you'd have to say that OU are the first decent opponent that they will encounter this season.
Texas have gone close with BYU, who in turn only scrapped by Utah State and Ole Miss. After that UCLA who are on Texas record got whipped by Stanford are probably next best folloed by Iowa State and then Rice (both poor teams). Texas are rebuilding at the moment and it is pretty hard to get a grip on how things are truely going without a decent name on the record. OU's record isn't that much better with only a win over an overrated Florida State sticking out. I would say 1.25 is probably a fair price. North Carolina to beat Louisville at 1.2 looks a good bet. And I really can't get my head around #20 Kansas State at 2.62 at home to unranked Missouri. |

McCoy to Shippley! You would nearly think it was 2008/2009. But tonight its their two little brothers who will be all important for Texas. Case McCoy won the starting job after coming off the bench against BYU to save Texas from what would have been an embarressing loss. He has since been steady without putting up huge numbers in two blowout wins. He wasnt meant to be playing this year so its all about confidence with him. He is clearly going to be their QB for the future and tonight he will be facing one of the best defences he will come up against this year. If the Sooners get to McCoy early and put him under pressure it will be a serious test of his resolve and bottle.
On offence for Oklahoma Landry Jones has been good so far this year putting up huge numbers. The worrying thing is he has thrown 5 interceptions, if he can keep that to one or none against Texas who have 6 team interceptions this year he will have another big game. Oklahoma have proven this year they can gon into a hostile environment and come away with the victory after their win in Florida. The line opened up at 8.5 but has moved to 10.5 with the books. I would much prefer to be taking the 8.5 on here than the 10.5 with the books. Good Luck. |

8.30pm ESPN
Florida @ LSU LSU -13.5 With Floridas starting QB out injured for tonight, freshman Jeff Driskel is faced with the daunting challenge of facing the nations best and fiercest defence in their house. Driskel went 2/6 for 14 yards last week against another tough defence in Alabama as Florida lost a blowout at home to the Crimson Tide. The LSU defence has created 12 turnovers this year and if they get at Driskel early this could be a long night for the Gators. Its not as if the Gators have a running game to fall back on as they rushed for a grand total of 15 yards against Alabama last week. Even though they rank 22nd in rushing they have put up them numbers against poor rushing defences and LSU is not one of them. On the other side of the ball LSU coach Les Miles is gradually reinstating the original starting QB Jordan Jefferson who was suspended at the start of the year after geting into a bar fight. His replacement Jarret Lee has done brilliantly for the Tigers and has done nothing wrong, it will be very unfair on him if he loses the job to Jefferson. Lee was poor last week going 8/21 for 169 yards and like Kellen Moore last night its hard to see him having two off weeks in a row. Baton Rouge will be bouncing tonight and if the LSU defence get on top early they will easily cover two TD's. Good Luck. |

Always been a bit of a Gators fan, but I like LSU to cover @ 1.9x. Gators having plenty of issues, which I think new coach will take time to iron out. Plus LSU were impressive against a much tougher opponent in oregon.
Leaning towards LSU to cover, but over 40.5 is a decent shout aswell. Good luck all, looking forward to a good game. |

Oklahoma looking great but I don't see them gaining the #1 slot back without a slip up from LSU or Alabama.
Whilst the Big 12 is stronger than many give it credit for the LSU and 'Bama have far tougher schedules. The current ranked teams remaining for OU are Baylor, Texas A&M, Kansas State and most credibly Oklahoma State. LSU have already been through 3 ranked teams, one of them Oregon, they've got the Gators tonight and later down the road they've got Alabama, Auburn and Arkansas... That said if they get through all that they'll be a well deserved #1 |

I'm on LSU outright for this one.
Fancy Michigan to beat Northwestern as well later on. |

Crazy Aussie....stupid rule though the 15 yard penalty rule should still apply, was a great play.
|
|
By:
The rule is silly, ruined a great play.
Having said that if he knew what the rule was and its in place, whether its a decent rule or not, he was silly for not following it. |
|
By:
just celebrate after you scored
simple i like the rule |

By:
I agree about celebrating after you score, but the penalty is a little excessive.

Vanderbilt @ Alabama
Alabama -29 Having been stung by big handicaps in the last few weeks i am going for Alabama to reverse the trend for me tonight. The Crimson Tide have been the second best defence i have seen after LSU this year and they probably have the best secondary in football. Vanderbilt rank 116th in passing yards and 77th rushing so their offence is really up against it tonight. They started the year with 3 wins at home against poor teams and they lost last week at South Carolina 21-3 and SC had four interceptions so it could and should have been a lot worse. Alabama are unstoppable on the ground averaging nearly 230 yards per game. Their last two games were a 28 point win and a 24 point win against ranked teams. With LSU putting on another solid display tonight they are sure to hold onto the number 1 spot for next week and Oklahoma ranked 3 this week being so impressive earlier on against Texas will be pushing for the number 2 spot next week, so i am hoping the Crimson Tide will want to run up a score tonight and put in a performance. Good Luck. |

LSU easing off as feared
Have a bad feeling about the hcap |
|
By:
Yeah that last TD was huge. Hopefully the defence will take exception for being done for a big play and want to prove a point. I looooove that little Tim Tebow goal line pass!!
