cards have just lost ryan williams for the season. though there are a few unsigned vet rb's they can replace him with.
tb and rams as nice outsiders for me. no strong feelings for any of the favs.

I heard that about Williams, such a shame especially for rookies who waited 3 months since being drafted to get started.
He would only have been Beanie Wells back up but they will need a someone to share the load.
100/1 Cards, they might not have a Kurt Warner leading the offence but IMO there's only the Rams to beat in the West, they have a soft schedule and a chance (albeit small) they could sneak home field advantage in Jan

main bets- packers, jets and ravens.

Wouldnt back the panthers at 5000/1, nevermind 500. Cant win it.
Ravens will be lucky to finish above the steelers. Have you seen the steelers schedule? Will be shocked if they dont get 11+ wins.

To profit- agreed about the panthers. i just couldnt resist the price. A new qb, some new tight ends and 2 good running backs. Who knows? I believe the ravens can win at least 12. hopefully their ol will be sorted out with this big lump mckinnie going in at left tackle and oher playing on the other side. Steelers have an easy schedule but so do ravens. Only main difference is ravens have to travel to chargers.
The Cheifs don't have Charlie Weis this year and as a result their offensive will be pretty impotent.
Signing a 28 year old injury prone running back to a massive contract when you have a high quality starter behind him just sums up the Panthers franchise.
The Ravens has the best roster in AFC imho they just need to get to the play offs and hope someone else can beat the Steelers for them because they wont. Big Mental block there.
In terms of the outright market it looks awfully hard to spot any value to me. The Packers are interesting they have a soft 4 or 5 opening games yet i expect them to start slowly.
As a result not sure i could back them at these prices.
The Patriots are just a shocking bet. They don't win big games now they cannot film the opposition. The mug spread offence and lack of pass rush will be shown up once again in the big moments.

ravens dont need to worry about a mental block imo..ray rice error turned a game they completely dominated

Not sure how you can write the pats off. Have made some nice free agent moves and appeared to have something of a pass rush against tampa (only preseason i know). A pass rush to go with that offense could be lethal. Current price aint great, but pats and packers are justified faves.

I can do without Cadle being the host (most of the time just stumbling around talking about a bawl game) - but Nick is the fan's fan. I think him and the insight of Mike Carlson would be exception + Carlson is funny (weird) as well

Anyone put me off the Giants @ 3/1 for the NFC East?
Really think this is a massive price.The Eagles price is a joke & still to be convinced by the Cowgirls despite the change of coach.

punkha- i wouldnt put you off the giants @3/1. philly gone way too short now (4/6 with paddies). i dont give the cowboys or redskins much of a chance so 3/1 looks value.
No offence he seams like an ok guy but Halling doesn't have a scooby about this game. Just rolls out a few buzz words and offers very little actual insight.
Outsiders - Has to be Kansas City. Can someone please explain to me how they are 100/1 on here? I keep putting on more money as it seems an absurd price. Bookmakers have them at a more realistic 50/1. Does Betfair think Matt Cassel's arm has dropped off? They are a young ascending team who have really shaped their roster well over the past few years.
Main - Hard to say as really, any team could win it. Value wise, has to be New York Giants at 40. Laughable that they are almost double the price of New York and four times the price of Philly.

What the Chiefs were able to accomplish in 2010 was a testament to the impact great offensive and defensive coordinators can have in the NFL. Charlie Weis was one of the best around but he and Hayley just didn't get on. Castle will go back to being crap in his absence.
Matt Cassel was sh*t in 2009, completing 55 percent of his passes as he threw for 2,924 yards, 16 touchdowns and 16 interceptions with a dreadful 5.9 YPA. With Charlie Weis, Cassel's numbers improved to 3,116 yards, 27 touchdowns, seven picks, with a 6.9 YPA and a 58.2 completion percentage. Cassel's just not very good. He has accuracy issues and struggles to make all of the throws because of a very very weak arm. Cassel completed just 14-of-57 attempts longer than 20 yards in 2010, bad enough for last place in that category in the NFL.
Kansas City overachieved last year, thanks to great coaching and an easy schedule. The team won't be as lucky in 2011. Charlie Weis is gone, while the schedule is more taxing. I expect the opposite to occur this year. Instead of being worse than their record indicated in 2010, they'll be better than their record indicates this season. Their brutal, late stretch of consecutive games against the Patriots, Steelers, Bears, Jets and Packers will knock them out of AFC West contention. Probably 6-10 7-9 record this year.

And with Jared Gaither and Brandon Albert providing solid play at the Tackles and Tony Moeaki becoming Dallas Clark lite and Dexter McCluster possibly becoming a Darren Sproles / Reggie Bush player, the Chiefs have some high scoring potential. The pieces are there for Haley to call plays like he did in Arizona.
Meanwhile, their young defence is one year older, one year wiser and more importantly, has no upheaval.
With Denver in the doldrums, although 200 looks reasonable with Orton at QB and John Fox revamping the D, Oakland being Oakland and San Diego being overly reliant on Philip Rivers and a coach who is uninspiring at best, the Chiefs are a massive price. The 50s at Bookmakers is reasonable. The 100s on here is not.

Having completed my research for the coming season i have had 1pt on Buccaneers at 42. 
Main - Saints, if Drew throws a few less interceptions and their defense causes a few more turnovers, they suddenly start to look like the 2009 champs instead of the 2010 wild card team who unbelievably lost at Seattle.
Outsider - Titans, think their 170 on here is stupid (PaddyP 50/1 more like it). The AFC South could be horrific this year and I don't think it will take much winning.

Outsider = Lions. Yes, the Lions. If Stafford can stay upright then I see them being a force. Yes, it's a big if but at 42's I've had a punt. Anyone who saw the demolishion of the Pats in preseason will understand the hunger there. Yes, it was preseason but there is something going on up there which I like the look of. The team has some serious pieces and a further year of development will see them make the playoffs imo.
