Blimey its the bye weeks in the season
 thought it was something completely different.cheers...so i take it you cant bring in a bench player for a week say MOSS isnt playing...so the bench players are just used if injury comes into play? |

can play the bench players whenever you like (better match up ete ete) but quite a bit of fantasy football is luck

this league has 6 bench players. you can mix these up any way you wish, though some leagues limit the total numbers of each type of player. so if you want to have all 6 bench players as wr's then you can.
at the moment there's 6 confirmed and waiting to hear from 4 from last year. yes you can trade with each other. you can also swap players you have with those who haven't been picked by anyone. this is called waivers and you need to read up about how that works. it's all there on the website. |

btw some would argue that having the no1 pick isn't that great, because you end up with the no1 and no20 (in a 10 team league), whereas it might be better to have say, no6 and no 14.

np can't see any of the 4 non-respondents suddenly appearing between now and weds.
you can always join some random league as well. they used to limit you to one league per email addr and login, but they've changed that this year and you can join more than one. (i actually think that could cause problems with people who have a sh1tty draft not bothering for the rest of the season) |

GLV, If there is a post saying that these will be changed at some point to match the new date and time, apologies for missing it, but in the league I'm seeing "Select Keepers (Deadline: Sep 1, 7PM ET)" and "Your Snake Draft is scheduled for Thu., Sep. 1 at 12:30 AM ET"

nooky, you've got your leagues mixed up. that's the ESPN keeper league and not run by me. time suits me though, as will still be up following the tennis from nyc
 but you'll also note the deadline for specifying keepers is after the draft? shirley that's wrong???this league is the nfl.com one. pls confirm you're up for this one too. |

I got logged in to the NFL site but when I search the 'Custom' tab on the league directory using 'betfair' or 'allsorts' or both, I draw a blank. Same for search of drafts taking place on 30th. Would you post the direct hyperlink to our league glv, cheers

I'm a Newbie like Harry to this so looking forwards to learning
Done a few mock drafts and just drafted for another league. Just wondering is it normal to draft so many running backs I drafted 4 and picked up 1 backup for each position. Other people just had 1 at each position and loaded up on running backs. Surely you can't slot a running back into the tight end position when the tight end is on a bye? |

You are correct. If people leave half way through a mock draft, it goes on to automatic picks for them, and the computer will select the next ranked player, which can skew the numbers at one position. That may explain what you saw. Other people just mess around.
You can only start guys in their own position. In this league there is some flexibility with the RBs and WRs so you can play 2 RBs and 3WRs or vice versa. Personally, I usually take a back up at each position, except the kicker |

d13 as gvl said it is fairly straight forward and i have read up and watched a few fantasy football shows that are on nfl.com fantasy and running backs seem to be the players to go for..i presume thats where the points are at.
On another note...this could be the season the EAGLES win the lot  good look picking on our secondary this season [:p] |

dunny - you can't have an odd number of teams in the league and rescue me hasn't replied. if he replies and we can get both of you signed up before the draft then ok. otherwise sorry. if you register with nfl.com you can join up to 6 leagues run by them on there with 9 other random ppl.

For my information, is the 'Drafting Now' button meant to appear between the words "Betfair All Sorts" and the search box at the top of the page? I must have some security setting that's screwing things up 'cos I couldn't find the league the other day either using the search.

At first i was glad to be 2nd pick as i was guaranteed CJ AP or ray rice...i was looking to pick up 2 very good RBs...something like GVL picked up, rice and jackson would be ideal,wanted brees or rivers but ended up with schaub which isnt too bad.
