I wish Betfair would offer all MLB games for action betting where the bet stands no matter who the starting pitchers are instead of only offering listed pitcher where the bet is void if one of the listed pitchers at the time of the bet does not start.

I find the feature on Pinnacle Sports is excellent. As you place your bet you just tick or un-tick a box to decide if you want your bet to be listed pitchers must start or action, you get the same odds regardless and after Betfair commission the odds are usually better or the same as on Betfair.

When I bet MLB the starting pitchers are not a big consideration. I have to get my bets on hours before the game before I go to work then I can’t check them at work to make sure they haven’t been void.

I am sure Betfair would put up separate markets for action bets if enough people would bet into them that there was a business case for it. I would definitely bet action on MLB at Betfair rather than what I do now which is use Pinnacle.

Would any ells like to see this option and think they would use it, even if only occasionally?

I'm afraid they don't give a fly ball for US sports Sad

Actually Betfair did at one time have action markets on MLB. In fact that's all they had. They switched to listed picther lines, I think around 2003-2004, with action lines posted as well. Vast majority wanted the listed pitcher market and the action lines were dropped for lack of interest.

The problem with having an action market on Betfair is the risk of a pitcher change. There is no way to adjust the odds on a pitcher change like bookmakers who take action bets do. Does the OP realize that a bookmaker like Pinnie will adjust the odds on action wagers taken prior to a pitcher change?

You'll have no layers on action markets as if people find out about the pitcher change before the layer, the layer is screwed. If I'm a layer in that situation, I have to be at my computer 24/7 (or at least the whole time I have money in the markets) and even then someone can find out about a pitching change before me. It's not like a bookmaker where you can have palpable errors, you can suspend markets or even void bets as you choose.

At least 95% of the time the listed pitcher doesn't change anyway, so why would anyone want an action line? If a pitcher does change and you'd bet on an action line, you're effectively just crossing your fingers and hoping the change is in your favour.
