"if there wasnt protection you'd have dead players on the field mate" dont talk sh't, because they have protection it lets them hit people in totally the wrong way, if they didn't have protection, they would have to learn how to hit without breaking their necks.

The protection enables them to hit from all angles and not worry about killing themselves you fool, unlike Rugby where you have to get the tackle correct or else you break lots of limbs, now do one, obi one.

From 1931 to 2006, the National Center for Catastrophic Sport Injury Research has reported 1,006 direct and 683 indirect fatalities resulting from participation in all organized football (professional, college, high school, and sandlot) in the US .

because they don't know how to hit properly you prat, they are not thinking "how do i hit without breaking my body" think about it, if like you say they have no protection, they would soon learn how to tackle without killing themselves. You really are clueless, you must be a bit simple, come on admit it.

think about it, if you are covered in protection from head to toe, you dont care where you throw your body.......take away protection, you don't get "dead bodies" like you say, you get people thinking twice before jumping in head first to a tackle.

You are a f'ckwit. They hit like they do cos they dont have to worry about protecting their body. I teach you a lesson, learn it and shut up you prat.
So how long do you think they would last on the field in the ultimate contact sport known as Rugby League?

Rugby league my number 1 sport, but love NFL, amazing how many rugby fans take to nfl so easy. Different sports but high entertainment. Watched chelsea v liverpool today and realised why I love nfl and league.

I am comparing the two, just replying to a stupid comment about if you take away protection you have dead bodies. Totally different sports, in one you have to learn how to hit without harming your body, in the other you can dive in head first as you have full body protection.
I love NFL and League

ffs man, there have been nearly 2000 deaths with some form of protection, which bit of all this dont you understand.
You really are stupid! There are so many injuries because they don't think about tackling correctly, that is the problem. I will say this s l o w l y f o r ..........take away protection, they have to think about how they hit, hence, less injuries....go on, try and squeeze that in your head.

When i was working in Pittsburgh i had a chat with Lee Flowers who was playing for the Steelers at the time. I told him i play Rugby, his reply was "that is the crazy game with no protection, no way would you get me playing that sport with no protection!"

There have been nearly 2000 deaths in the sport..............IF you take away protection you will have dead players on the field.
Protection is there for a reason.
This is my last go at explaining it for you.....There have been nearly 2000 deaths in the sport..............IF you take away protection you will have dead players on the field.Protection is there for a reason.

take away protection they learn how to tackle properly, THERE ARE SO MANY INJURIES COS THEY HAVE PROTECTION AND THEY HIT IN STUPID WAYS YOU WOULD NEVER DREAM OF WITHOUT HELMETS ETC.............easy isn't it.

in rugby you generally catch the ball once it has been thrown back to you. in american football you can get thrown the ball forwards with you running at full speed with your eyes on the abll behind you.. catch it.. then get hit (even legally in rugby league) and get knocked for six. thats why the padding is there.

"because we dont hit as hard as you do. " because the protection enables them to and the sound of all the helmets smashing into each other makes it sound harder.....i am not arguing that NFL don't hit hard, they do.

sorry diddent elaborate enough there.once you catch the ball theres a guy running in full speed into you.. so two people running full speed into eachother = masssssive hit requiring the padding to be there.

SDL where did you get this stat there have been nearly 2000 deaths with some form of protection, which bit of all this dont you understand.
Do you understand what indirect and direct fatalities mean? There hasn't been 2000 fatalities in American football due to playing the sport.
Idiot.

I am dealing with an uneducated prick, 2000 deaths which he now says is 1600, but in fact it is 1000, unreal.

he has got a point about the protection.. you take away the helmets and you will soon see no head to head contact which the NFL claims they want eradicate.. but the nfl love it :)

NFL players are soft as anything, I seem to remember my Dad telling me how two players came over in the early 80's or so to play league and they lasted 3 months as it was too physically demanding.
The only sport as "tough" as Rugby League is Australian Rules, now they are nutters.
Yanks = ponces.
Oh and the reason there are lots of NFL deaths is that most of them are on steroids of some description.

comparing league and nfl idiotic, nfl players trained for short bursts , i doubt any league player would cut it really. the same way i doubt many of the nfl big men would last 80 mins of league. some of the nfl lads 25-30 stone, trained for 10 metre bursts, they would destroy best league has IMO. different games FFS

exactly 2smiggy, if some League rocked up to an NFL teams pre season training they would be kicked out for be too slow and too weak.
They did a race of the quickest Aussie rugby league and union players over 100 metres. Not one of them broke 11 seconds
NFL full of players with competition recorded sub 10.20 100m in college track meets. Hundreds of players every year run a quicker 40 than Usain Bolt.

Outside the physical aspect the reason NFL is adored is because it has immense skill and tactics.
Rugby league is just two teams running at each other trying to score tries. NFL is one team trying to outwit the other every single play of the game.
It's a terrible comparison.Outside the physical aspect the reason NFL is adored is because it has immense skill and tactics. Rugby league is just two teams running at each other trying to score tries. NFL is one team trying to outwit the other every
