Not a great game, but with the h'cap at 15 and points line 37 and no Polamalu there has to be some value getting with Carolina and the overs here ?
Weather seems OK with the snow set to stop hours before KO, winds at 10mph shouldn't kill the passing game, the overs and Carolina (with the points) seem a bit of value to me.
Any views ?

As a Ravens supporter I may stay up to see if the Panthers can keep it close - surely every stat available points to a blow-out?

98 @ Cleveland 92 @ Seattle 133 v Atlanta 137 v Arizona Carolina passing game dross, only weapon they have is the rush, Steelers without Polamalu, is the current 1.74 +50.5 Stewart a good thing?? |

Probably O, but I make Troy the most influencial player in NFL and many of the stats include games he's started. I like the overs more than the h'cap but Panthers have showed some improvement recently and still possess a decent running game

steelers to win by about 40 if they can be bothered. Anyone who has put any money on the panthers hasn't watched them this year, they are beyond woeful |

Is it not a shout that if Stewart can run 133 v the Falcons he could run 51 v a Polamalu-less Steelers???

squire - he's up against not only the best run D this year but probably one of the best of all time, but given Clausens inexperience and probably some conservative play calling, Stewart will get his carries so I'd rather play over than under.
Steelers will win and probably comfortably, but 15 is a big spread |

Think I'll play the overs here, 1 x FG and 3 x PAT and it's a winner, and if the Panthers do get some defence going he may easily land 2 or 3 FG attempts. 20/23 is a fair price IMO |

Wind is due to tail off by kick off, they had a dumping of snow earlier but forecast nothing but light flurries during the game, line has edged up half a point.

Date Joined: 05 Mar 03 Add contact | Send message When: 23 Dec 10 20:06 Is it not a shout that if Stewart can run 133 v the Falcons he could run 51 v a Polamalu-less Steelers??? steelers are the only team to have under 1000 rushing yards vs them this season, 1000 in 14 matches so far equated to 70yards (and pitts under this figure) then add the likely scenerio that steelers will be ahead meaning panthers will be expected to air it out little more. they may get short yardage on little dump passes to RB but not a bet which stands out for me for intrest could be decent bet, as end of day 50yards is only half field and that can be obtained in one play alone (so bet not lost to final whistle) i certainly wouldnt want to be on under 50 lets put it that way but without waffling on....i also wouldnt want to have 100 quid vs steelers D on the line |

Tough one to punt in this, except for Carolina punter I suppose, he'll get to do a bit. Ive gone for Pittsburgh 7-12 pts winning margin@5.7. Mike Wallace 1st td@11 and a field goal to be missed@1.86. Had a little on over 47.5 pts @3.95 as well. Not very confident any will cop but its something to watch. Cant see Carolina doing much but with troy polamalu missing they have more chance than usual to score on screen or short passes, dont think that Clausen can get the ball long to Smith against this defence. Pittsburgh offence has missfired recently and a few like Ben and Heath Miller are towing with niggles so it could be closer if they struggle to punch it in.

I don't disagree with you but the rider for me is that those Steelers D numbers is were gained largely with the presence of Polamalu. Carolina have to run the ball and Stewart is their go-to guy over past 4 weeks having missed the previous 2. This is a largely redundant conversation anyway as the 1.74 which had been pout up has been taken down unmatched  |

There is nothing like momentum and the panthers have a it of it now. Forget about the Arizona game they played well in the defeat to the Falcons.
There are plenty of ATS stats that say Carolina will keep within 2 touchdowns here. I would back the under but 37 is too low |
