is it more or has this season been very dissapointing, sure we've seen a change in stature from the usual texas/oklahoma/usc domination. But what would really pep up this season is playoffs!! I mean take boise and tcu for example, they smoke everyone thats put in there way, not there fault they're in a week conference so get 10 week opponents and 1 or 2 good ones a year. Not at all helping there ranking! As crazy as it is oregon only just scraped by cal last night and auburn were clear winners over georgia so you can expect after tonight it will be 1. Auburn 2.Oregon
lets see the top 25 change to something (for example) like a top 10 with the top 6 getting a bye week and then 8 teams are left to battle it out for the bcs national championship. Could start the season a little earlier like mid august then the playoffs could run over the xmas peroid and be done and out of the way for nfl playoffs in Jan. I know every year this debates rears its head and in some respect what boise and tcu are doing and not getting credit for it will only strengthen the argument for it to happen.
The top six would be the winners of the BCS conferences; Atlantic Coast Conference, Big 12 Conference, Big East Conference, Big Ten Conference, Pacific-10 Conference, Southeastern Conference. Then the 4 remaining spots could go to the teams with the best record. I know this is still a little bias towards the big teams and the teams with good records in the MAC/WAC conference would have play the extra playoff game but surely it would make better viewing and also the league more competititve.
after the few years boise are after having , its a real shame they do not get a chance at the championships game,(unless auburn or the ducks mess up)
doubt anything will change, but it would be good for the representatives of the 'lesser' divisions to be given a crack at winning the bcs if they are good enough. they might only have a team capable of doing so for 1/2 years before these players move on to nfl or finish college.

yeah , have to agree - I don't see how it's fair that you can go undefeated all season, win your bowl game and still not have a chance to be bcs champions. I guess the bowl games are bigger moneyspinners than a quarters/semi/final format
It is a surprising end to the season, especially given how popular march madness is in the ncaab

March madness makes the entire college basketball regular season as dull as ditchwater imo. Very little really matters until knockout competition begins.
Part of the appeal of college football as far as I'm concerned is that you absolutely cannot afford to f*ck up a single game. That's a consequence of having no play-offs.
Having a ten-team playoff as you suggest would start letting in two-loss teams, and would massively take the pressure off the big boys earlier in the year. It's also my opinion that a playoff in no way makes it more likely that the best team would be national champions - in fact I think that it would make it less likely.
Granted, the system is far from perfect, but I love it for its idiosyncracies, not in spite of them. I'm well aware of the fact that my views put me in a 2:1 minority amongst college football fans.

So they are. Undesirable imo, given that every game that makes it onto our screens follows the away@home principle when it comes to showing the score.
I don't bet on it, but maybe I should start if 1.01 favourites are so common!
Shocks are rare in CFB, but not that rare. In the last 5 weeks 18 out of 91 outsiders have prevaled in games involving ranked teams. I doubt that the draw-no-bet markets involving Europe's Top 25 football teams offer significantly more competitiveness.

the way too do it is have the 11 confernce winners qulify automatically then the test best 5 according to the ranking system
and they can use the ranking system as a way of seeding the playoffs that way every one is happy and requler season games still matter simples
