There's a $16million club option for 2011, which I imagine they will pick up.
He'll probably demand at least $30million a year on a new contract, I'm not sure St Louis can afford that

If he goes surely it would free up $$$ for three top players to boost the roster.
On the other hand the Cards would hate to see him somewhere like the Cubs so surely they will push out the boat for him.
Not making the play-offs this year will not help either..
