Hi Hayden / Jordi..glad this thread is up and running, been dabbling away at quite a few sports...up and down...The Jarvis Yard has done me well last couple of months, but tonights 2 yr old hurt a lot..NFL..up and down, houston killed me at weekend after being a great two weeks...boxing was superb but got the Chisora fight all wrong and cost me plenty...and baseball...grr, got San diego all wrong last few weeks and made a mess of a real decent p and l...enjoying life though...cant complain at all though as that is our choice in life and will always live by the sword and die by it...looking forward to NHL this year and reading the bits and pieces on this thread and the quality input by posters..if i hear of anything in Jarvis yard I will post...October is his month stats wise with his juveniles and 3yr handicappers at Haydock...so fingers croosed.
The NFL so far has been some great games and liking my position with Jets...some outstanding plays in last couple of weeks and cant get enough of it. Ryder cup should be easy trading on top points scorers and Europe have the better team and conditions to suit....also become single again - oops...but that makes life easier during the late nights of NFL season and NHL good to be back! |

Hey guys. Been a great summer here with lots of bbqing, drinking, camping. Haven't spent too much time on here; I love baseball but find its far too much work to keep apprised of all of what's going on. Just follow the Jays really. I check in to the football forum for a laugh once in awhile but tbh nothing over there that resembles the NHL thread. Looking forward to the season getting going here in a few days. Going to have some early starts with those European games but will give me something to watch at work. Going to be an interesting year around here with the Canucks having real Stanley Cup expectations.
Here's to another great year! |

Hi Everyone,
Been very quiet for me since the end of the World Cup. Laid England as I knew they had no chance, and they duly delivered in spectacular fashion. Looking forward to a mouthwatering season of NHL and my usual fray onto any market that appeals. Disappointed the Blue Jays missed out in such a tough division. Here's to Hockey Heaven. |

cheers Hayden...was a nice touch..i often get info from book i used to work with (not all win of course otherwise I would not have to work ) and also watch them run and achieve hcp marks - very shrewd stable ...it goes to prove some drifters do win but happy to pass on what I hear...cant wait for tonights NFL - again some cracking match ups and of course the big Arc meeting....really fancy Swiss Diva - up in class but will love the ground...fly in oitment is of course Lady of the desert - so impressive last time out, but maybe race could be too quick ...think wooten bassett is something very special too...not a tip in any format, just what i fancy.
Had a nice touch on credit swap - normally a race i would swerve at all costs, but fancied it after thursday run and after forumite BJG gave a good insight i got stuck in - the gaps appeared and happy days....also had a few losers in day as well and went out of scoop 6 in second race - which is a shame as i had 4 winners in there and missed the placer because of the second...one day i will nail it - i hope! |

I don't really play the matches much nowadays, just have a few outright bets on the Stanley Cup to keep me interested.
Last year did well as ended up with both finalists from the three I picked which wasnt bad going though maybe haven't gone in to quite so much in depth study this time around so probably won't fare so well! Anyhow have backed Vancouver 12/1, San Jose 14/1 and New Jersey e/w 20/1, and hoping for a good run from at least a couple of them if not all three. Though I find you can quite often get a better price at some stage once the season is underway should one of the teams have a bit of a blip! At least it gives me an excuse to watch a few games on ESPN! |

Alright boys, only 24h now.

Afternoon chaps
Not getting involved in the early game & just watching to get a feel for it all again , will probably be playing a midnight game so will be back on later , good luck |

Can't help but have a small play on the early game from Finland. I don't rate Minnesota at all this year and don't know why they are favoured here -- maybe something about Backstrom playing at home in Finland? Not much else to base this on other than I think Carolina will be better this year and must know that they need to get off to a better start than a year ago.
Carolina ML @ 2.10 |
By:
Strange in-play stuff already , Wild 2.4 pre-game and yet plenty of 2.2 when they were 1-0 ahead
|
By:
Nice call benrik , happy to sit that one out and get a feel but good start tbh with plenty of goals and both teams leading at some stage
|

hey. should penguins realy be so big favourite tonight...?
|
By:
Pronger missing for Flyers and opening game at the new Consol Energy Centre i fancy the Penguins to get off to a Flyer! Excuse the pun!!
|

Think everything is factored in tonight making the prices about right , Pens in new arena tonight away from the Igloo but sure the crowd will be up for the first game at the Energy Centre , be strange to watch Pens with no Gonchar this year but the new acquisitions look adequate enough , surprising Flyers never went looking for a top notch goal tender and Boucher still first choice???....hmmm we'll see , with Gagne now gone Flyers will need to perform miracles to match the achievements of last season tbh.
Great opening tussle in Toronto , suspension of Cammalleri and unbelievably no Halak in goal is a big blow to Habs and with Kessel now having some quality support at last and Phaneuf raring to go it may be a tough opener for Habs. Still looking at the 2 late games , good luck all |
