I have a monumental amount on dosh on Boston tonight 370 at 4/6 At Ladbrokes because I got lucky with a 50 5 selection accumulator which got me almost 400.

This is a p!ssed off bet. Basically, I've come to the conclusion you will only win big money with Baseball if you do big bets. Use the Del boy approach.

He who dares wins

If it wins then I will have 610 and I can go from there.

I can see a big win from this sport, but only if I am daring and do a 350-500 accumulator.

I will soon either win 5,000 + from this sport soon or I will not.

Most I've ever won from this game is about 700 from a 4 game acca. Even then I had to sweat it out after at 5.45am after Armando Benitez came on the bottom of the 9th with a 4 run lead and almost threw the game and 900 of my money away.

Since then I have used bwin and got to 1,160 and lost it all in the space of a month after a series of bad baseball luck - mostly due that the "sweep" weekend that happened about a month back where 700 went in quick time.

My goal is to have a big baseball win. It has potential, but you need luck. I want a big win.

Opinions on this sport and it's potential for a big win?

Btw, I've read this thread through again for the first time.

Apart from the odd dodgy comment, you cannot win on MLB matches from the offset due to their unpredictability.

Trading out however is an option, which in June when I wrote this thread, was a new concept to me and wasn't considered.

I had some big wins Multiple betting on MLB @ Bwin, probably why I started this thread.

So I stick to what I wrote to an extent.

you can win on EVERY sport - it's just a matter of doing your homework better than 98% of the people you are betting against. And it's not just knowing about Ramirez's record on Monday nights in May against left-handed pitchers when batting third, you need to understand the percentages of betting - if you can lay 2.24, it's better than backing at 1.8; why bookies love it when you bet multiples; and why bookies lay the overs so heavily in points/run totals.

Baseball is a tight margin sport - every time you take 1.8 on a team you rate 1.85, there goes 1.5% of your margin - you need to find more winners to stay ahead. And that sort of difference is often the difference between the long-term winners and the guys who think they are, but never keep detailed enough records to know..

Squash - the overs is a 'public' bet. Because the overs is open-ended, people want to see a high-scoring game.

The results for college football and arena football markets are similar to those found in the professional football and professional basketball totals market. In all of these leagues, the overs are overbet. We suggest that there is a clear preference for bettors to bet the over and the extent of the bias depends upon the volume of uninformed bettors to informed bettors and limits placed on bets in these markets.

From some academic paper I found on google which essentially backs up what all the bookies have known for years.

The public love it (and remember 95% of gamblers lose in the long run) so the line moves up and it's usually the pros backing the unders to balance up the book (and winning).

o dwyer - have you considered limiting yourself to only above even money shots? I think this would help you as you are clearly stuck in the idea that some things are certainties, which nothing is (if you dont know that by now maybe you never will). I think it would help you to restrict yourself to odds against for a little while.

This thread is over a year old so ignore where I say I lose at this sport.

The bums who bump it up are bumping up educational piece where I engage with an arrogant user called Tai who does still his conkers on this sport on a regular basis, not mention other new-comers to this game who think they have found edge.

Like I say, it's fun to bet on, but if you're not thinking of trading out, then you might as well go to Ladcrooks and play the toss of a coin game.

The First Major League Baseball Bettor To Go Broke Odds have the Betfair forum's O'Swyer Favored

Albeit he’s a small favorite to be the first Major League Baseball Bettor to find himself broke,  of the Betfair forum has been instilled with that honor by the oddsmakers at Bookmaker.com, North America’s oldest established online gambling website.

O'Dwyer would pay out $20 for every $10 bet.

O'Dwyer was promoted to serve as undisputed fisherman of the Betfair forum after Schalke04 sudden retirement on August 22, 2010, and by Oct. 19, he was named the “official” mug of the Betfair forum.

But O'Dwyer will face tough challenges up ahead.   Baseball, after all, is a 50-50 game every season.

“We can't forget that I did not have a good year last year. We don't have it figured out but, we know multiples win big” O'Dwyer said.

At +200 odds, Quade is hardly huge favorite to be broke among the Betfair Forum clan.  In fact, there are a total of 12 bettors all within a 6-and-a-half-point margin from one another in the category where Bookmaker.com is concerned. Although the six-and-a-half-point margin took fourteen forum topic pages and 3 days to explain and get everyone to agree om.

Asked to comment on his odds O'Dwyer simply said, I don't understand the money line, it's a long story you see.
