Canada 6 gold to USA 7. hmmm not so sure who the bigest chokers are
Report Ace High February 24, 2010 12:12 AM GMT
USA 26 total medals to Canucks 11.

One country doesnt care about winter sport, the other one lives for winter sport...they should be ashamed.

I posted this before the Ice Hockey choke job as well.
Report scoobeck February 24, 2010 12:21 AM GMT
26 medals but only 7 gold. so many just cant finish the job off. chokers.
Report Ace High February 24, 2010 1:56 AM GMT
Obviously a canadian so not point debating. Hope the ice hockey failure still hurts.
Report Still standing February 26, 2010 5:43 PM GMT
You're right, you didn't mention gold medals. I stupidly believed that choking meant going for the win, and somehow not having what it takes mental wise and coming up short. I stupidly furthered this assumption and believed that going for the win at an Olympic games meant going for a gold medal.

Where did anyone from Canada choke ?

Let's get to what you did say. Every day without fail they let you down.

EVERY DAY ? Who and when did "they" let you down ?

Yes, I'm Canadian, so if you want to take a pass, just say what you did to the other guy here who you refused to debate because of his nationality.
Report orioles February 26, 2010 6:18 PM GMT
What's that all aboot?

A bit angry, eh?
Report Still standing February 26, 2010 6:39 PM GMT
No, not angry at all. A guy comes on here an calls Canada a bunch of chokers.

He gets called on it, then backs out like a little school girl.

Betfair forum has become a place where that happens all too frequently.

Ace is probably at home pulling the goalie.
Report orioles February 26, 2010 8:48 PM GMT
Relax, Ace only posts choking threads.

He's our resident chicken choker.
Report Ace High February 26, 2010 10:26 PM GMT
Its obvious to me that you havent watched much of these winter games 'still standing'.

Ive watched every medal event, and believe me, Canada have thrown away a stupendous amount of winning positions and medal oppurtunities. If you had scripted some of thier failures in these games, it would have been thrown away and called too far fetched.

They are the Van de Velde of winter sport. Especially on home soil where countries should be, and usually are, dominant.
Report scoobeck February 26, 2010 10:39 PM GMT
home nations usually are dominant what a joke.

USA really dominated 2002 with 10 golds.
Report Hayden February 26, 2010 10:53 PM GMT
They are the Van de Velde of winter sport

pardon my ignorance but what on earth does that mean ?
Report claimingseven February 26, 2010 11:32 PM GMT
Jean Van De Velde French golfer who bottled the British Open a few years ago.

1999 Open Championship
Van de Velde nearly achieved an upset victory at the 1999 Open Championship at Carnoustie, when he was the clear leader playing the closing holes. He arrived at the 18th tee needing only a double-bogey six to become the first Frenchman since 1907 to win the tournament. He had played error-free golf for much of the week and birdied the 18th hole in two prior rounds.

Despite a three-shot lead, Van de Velde chose to use his driver off the tee, and proceeded to drive the ball to the right of the burn and was lucky to find land. Rather than laying up and hitting the green with his third, Van de Velde decided to go for the green with his second shot. His shot drifted right and hit the grandstands on the side of the green and bounced fifty yards backwards into knee deep rough.

On his third shot, Van de Velde's club got tangled in the rough on his downswing, and his ball flew into the Barry Burn. He removed his shoes and socks and gingerly stepped through shin-deep water as he debated whether to try to hit his ball out of the Barry Burn, which guards the 18th green. Ultimately, he took a drop and proceeded to hit his fifth shot into the greenside bunker. Van de Velde blasted to within six feet from the hole, and made the putt for a triple-bogey seven, dropping him into a three-way playoff with Justin Leonard and Paul Lawrie. Lawrie would eventually triumph in the playoff.

thanks mate just curious , know absolutely nothing about and never watch golf and could only name Tiger Woods tbh , never heard of that guy that's for sure.

At it again in the Womens Curling.

They are a joke.
Report Still standing February 27, 2010 1:33 AM GMT
Yup, the skip choked. 2 bad shots when it counted.

The leader in the men's ariels went from 1st to 5th with a bad jump.

Jenn Heil went from 1st to 2nd, not a choke but a great ski by the American.

Speed skaters didn't do the job, mostly beaten like the rest of the world by the Koreans.

I count 2 choke jobs. You must have lots more examples. They happen every day.

What did your wonderful country do in this Olympics.
Report Still standing February 27, 2010 3:25 AM GMT
Where's Ace High ? He was here within minutes of Canada's women curlers blowing a sure win. Since then, 2 gold medals by Canada in short track. I know he saw them, he said he's seen every medal event.

Maybe he'll be back after the men's hockey team win easily over Slovakia. Those choking **s.

Maybe he's choking, his chicken that is.
Report Ace High February 27, 2010 4:12 AM GMT
Your girls curling team were gubbed at 1.01 mate!!! They are what I said they were. Official, no debate, finito.

As to your point about 'my countrys' success. We deal in currencey at the proper olympics (check our haul at Beijing), your mob are winter specialists and should be wiping the floor with other nations, especially on home soil with all the advantages that brings...
Report King of the Hill February 27, 2010 6:46 AM GMT
Never a truer word said Ace,
the curling summed up this nation of mugs!
Canada is the definition of choke....next up the Ice Hockey final, this will be the ultimate embarassment!
Report Still standing February 27, 2010 12:57 PM GMT
I'm looking forward to Britain wiping the floor at the summer Olympic Games in 2012.

Britain are summer games specialists, they have the home advantage.
Report orioles February 27, 2010 1:48 PM GMT
The curling was hilarious :)

My complaint (apart from the poor sod who died) is this denying people practice on courses. That seems to me to be very bad form and hardly in the Olympic spirit.

Nice bacon, though.
Report scoobeck February 27, 2010 9:03 PM GMT
another win for canada over the USA. Domination
Report scoobeck February 27, 2010 9:07 PM GMT
Of course USA dominate along with China at Summer games, sheer numbers and wealth determine this.

However just checked out medals per millions of population for Beijing and USA not even in top 50 which says to me the avg American is well below average.
Report scoobeck February 27, 2010 9:16 PM GMT
Another gold, just pouring in now.
Report Still standing February 27, 2010 9:50 PM GMT
Never mind, Ace High went into hiding.

There will be another gold tonight, men's curling, followed by an easy win in hockey tomorrow.

Ace High is just waiting for the big game tomorrow, holding his little rabbits foot hoping Canada will lose the hockey game so he can come on here and post his carp 1 second after the game.

Ain't going to happen.

Ace predicts that at London 2012, Britain will dominate.
Report Still standing February 27, 2010 9:55 PM GMT
Men's short track pursuit just choke out a gold, Anderson just chokes out a snowboard gold after starting way behind in the gold medal run.

Canada went on a gold rush after Ace posts his carp. Thanks buddy.

Report scoobeck February 28, 2010 10:05 PM GMT
