Im going to take the dog in this one. If a game turns into a dance up and down the field, its often the last D standing that gets the team home, not the sexiest offense, and I think the Saints have the edge ... just!
I would usually dismiss Greg Williams threat to knock Manning out as the usual pre-Super Bowl horse** (its not too bright, in any case) but the Saints will definitely try because it inhibited Favre and they may be helped by the stats on the ref tonight, Scott Green, who rarely calls roughing the passer. I know that sounds a little hopeful if youre a Saints fan, but I think it might be a factor here. Even when the flags flew in the Vikes game, that was early on, and ol man Brett began to get more beat up, without drawing fouls, as the game went on. Each year, I used to put up a list of Superbowl betting tips and top of the list was,
"If Brees and the Saints have been watching any film, or reading any of my emails, theyll look to develop the same gameplan."
..and that's why you're the Daddy of the NA Forum :)

I thought as much Orioles. You certainly speak da lingo - offense - practise etc. Your American sojourn could explain your attitude to "other" matters that have cropped up on various threads too. Anyways - as you Yanks say - I'm leaning t'wards NO as well. Scott Greeen will ensure this game is kept close so it's worth taking the 4.5 imo.

Pure, unashamed affectation, I'm afraid. I alter my spelling and grammar shamelessly. My only weak excuse is that I still visit often and have many American friends.

BostSox Law 07 Feb 21:27 I know ...but had to oppose Manning ...always seems to find a way to win
by the way ...expecting to see a pre season MLB thread up here about 3.30am
Followed by the fantasy sign up!

Great write up O! (as always) Agree on most of your points, Saints are great value here, especially with Freeny limited. Only thing i would disagree with would be Under points, (i don't have a strong opinion on this tho). I think NO will put up 28-35pts and manning won't let NO get out of sight, so leaning to overs.
Surprised you haven't backed Addai to score at anytime @ 1.71. Considering you pointed out that NO have given up 266yrds and 5TD in the post-season and you expect Addai & Brown to get some hand-offs near the goal line.
I'm gonna follow your lead and take NO+5.5, Brees MVP, Addai anytime scorer, Clarke 1st scorer.
Also a couple of my own, NO+3 1st half & over 28pts 1st half, Colts to win by 1-6pts.
Ideal scenario: Clarke scores first, NO lead 17-14 at half time. Colts comeback to win by 1-5pts with Addai scoring somewhere in the middle. (we can all dream)
GL O.

If you agree with The Big O there's some value in the NO+4.5 handicap/under 55.5 points double market on here. Individual prices on both markets are 1.96 and 2.04, so the double should be around 4, but it's been trading at 4.5 and above. You could argue that the hcap/points double are related bets, in which case it is even better value as the under would make it more likely that the fav doesn't cover the spread.
Always a weak market though so you'll struggle to get more that £20 or so on, but it's a good one if you're looking for a small interest bet.

Great work Uncle O. Some of us have been around long enough to know you are indeed the leader of this forum. Very pleased with my hcap/points double too, great value. What were the layers thinking?

I ballsed up ....laid off my huge NO bet at17-16 for a small loss thinking Peyton would march up the field and put more points on the board ....in the hope thatif NO did win then my NO +10.5 and overs plus my NO +4.5 overs doubles would come in. ....Sadly not :(

Wow, Uncle O! Think you are in danger of picking up a load of new followers going into the mlb season. The pressure to keep up this standard of tipping must be immense.....

Well, I picked the Yanks to win it all last year before the season started, and I did ok on this year's Super Bowl.
That's too much dumb luck for this idiot ... I've retired!

Haven't been on in a while, but fantastic write up, O.
Congratulations on the picks. I couldn't call it so stayed clear beyond taking Manning to clear 292.5 PY.
