Turne a bunch of no-hopers into Superbowl winners. Guaranteed to beat one of the best teams in history and was MVP in the game.

Besides the fact he threw more Interceptions than Touchdowns in his career?

Like I say, I'm too young to have seen him play but from what I have seen and heard, he was as talented as they come.

His guarantee legendary? Yes.

The Jets a bunch of no-hopers? Pretty disrespectful to the defence that won that superbowl.

MVP? Yeh, he won it, but as Cold Hard Football Facts diagnosed it perfectley:

Joe Namath famously earned MVP honors in Super Bowl III, but the award should have gone to workhorse fullback Matt Snell he truly carried the load for the Jets that day.

New York ran the ball 43 times in Miami Snell with 30 of those attempts for 121 yards (4.03 YPA). He also caught four passes for 40 yards. In other words, Snell handled the ball on nearly half of the Jets offensive plays that day (34 of 72) and produced nearly half of the teams offensive output (161 of 337 yards). He also scored the teams only touchdown, with a 4-yard run in the second quarter.

Actually, in retrospect, when you look at those numbers, its a travesty that he didnt win MVP honors.

Seriously. Namath was the Geoff Hurst of the NFL, but with more personality.

Another one who puts stats over what he sees with his own 2 eyes.

I give up. Somebody who didnt watch the game disregarding the official stats with a comment suggesting he witnessed something different! You couldnt script it.

gotta say dan marino.not sure how he can be called one dimensional

i seem to remember him carrying some average at best miami teams with not much of a rushin attack

if he played in the same system as montana/young with the 49ers defences his numbers would be out of reach

some1 said he needed quality recievers but i think he made his recievers look quality

of the current crop i like manning but he benefits from offence friendly rules

Sharp post Max.

The disrespect shown to Brady this season has been embarassing to all true NFL fans. A 4000+ yard season after a potential career ending injury and the guy gets no respect.

Football outsiders had him as the number 1 rated QB with strength of schedule factored in.

If the pats had the colts D this year theyd be odds on for the title at this stage. Fact.

Your a mug and shouldnt be in this forum anymore. Your opinion is worthless because you just wrong on everything

Modern Era?

For pure physical skill and arm strength it is Elway, no question. There are plays he made that take the breath away.

Overall though it is Manning.

1 manning

2 elway

3 choose from any of marino, montana, young, brady, favre, moon...etc...

for physical ablity and arm strength alone i think randall cunningham and mike vick at least rival elway.not sayin they were as good a qb btw

however we r takin about the best qb

i think this includes many skills but ive got 2 say marino

a lightning release and the best ive seen at hitting a reciever in stride.duper and clayton owe the guy half there wages

Interesting analysis on ESPN radio last night.

1. Montana
2. Elway
3. Manning
4. Brady
5. Favre

But a strong case for moving Manning level with or even above Elway if he wins 1 or 2 more Superbowls.
