Follow my reasoning:

-Chargers need to win one of their last two games
-assuming they complete one win, they are in play offs
-injuries to key personel are possbile in either game
-ua win next week might be easier than this week but there are no guarantees in this life

-go for the win this week and rest players next week giving more time for r&r
-go for the win this week and give more time for recovery if injuries to key personel do occur
-go for the win this week and don't temp fate or act presumptious

is there any fault in the above logic other than the weird and crazy world of sports management philosophy?

If I were them I would be going for it tonight too, despite the 'Skins at home seeming an easier proposition. Better to wrap it up as soon as possible.

My Bucs last year only needed to beat a crappy Oakland squad, who had sod all to play for, and who were even crappier travelling to the East Coast, in the final week to make the playoffs.

They failed to do so of course.

In the same way that everything pointed to a Green Bay win against the Steelers who had absolutely nothing going for them apart from been at home and yet the bookies made them Favs'

The Chargers should be head and shoulders above the Titans yet the bookies have the Titans as 3 pt Favs.
