Please can anyone let me know what the incentive is for teams that cant possible qualify for the playoffs keep on playing tough
I thought the bottom teams got advantage on next years draft picks.

A lot of them haven't found stride till late and it feels good to be delivering rather than taking some WHOOPASS.

Pride, its their job, they want better contracts and endorsements & getting beat makes you feel **, would be enough for me.

Plus the very worse team gets to Pick No 1 which has of late been somewhat of a poison chalice! A Real bad pick at No 1 can set a team back 5 years IMVHO

Wouldn't you play tough? You're the hopes and dreams of 80,000 screaming adoring fans, and you're playing to impress your head coach who may cut you next year. Plus if it's a divisional game, you'd want to do anything you could to scupper the playoff chances of your rival. I know I'd be giving it my all...not to mention given that players earn millions of dollars a year, you'd think they'd like to go out and prove they were worth such generous contracts?

players go through hell in training and hurt badly throughout the season. The chances of slowing up to help the team bring in a good rookie (who may replace them) just isn't on their agenda.
Plus it's a 'stats' orientated game so playing soft could upset records.

Alot of them have incentives in their contracts for receptions, rushing yards, etc.
