The first pick will not be a QB this year, there is such depth at QB this year. Good QB will be picked up in the 2nd and 3rd round. If the bucs have the number 1 pick they will take Suh, so would the Lions. Its a case of who have the first , if the Rams do ok then it will be QB

Suh's stats in the games Nebraska lost were ordinary in the extreme although I agree you couldn't possibly fault his performance on Saturday.

we'll have another chance to watch him in the holiday bowl although i'm also very interested in watching alabamas dt terence cody as well against the texan longhorns to see how he gets on against them.

seems its a toss up between suh and clausen and it dpends who ends 32nd ranked tbh

The first pick in the draft is a poisoned chalice most years. You're better off picking around spot 6 - 10 and saving $30m. You can't even get a decent trade down - nobody wants it

Looks like washington qb jake locker will be staying at school rather than picking up millions next year,in many peoples eyes to was considered the best qb option,that honour will now probably go to notre dame jimmy clausen.
Expect a panic amongst the teams who need a qb as they try and trade up to get him.

think he'd get picked on marketability alone,quite possibly a big bust but tbh he'd be no worse than someone like bradey quinn,delhomme or bulger.
The boy suh is now coming into the draft with the biggest rap of any defensive player in the last 10 years,if he's not taken first it would be a huge mistake,sticking clausen in any of poor teams would also be a huge mistake as they've no offensive lines to talk of.

suh likely.. but berry is up there. bradford would have been a 1st rounder last year but chose to stay in college. many teams still high on him injury or not. washington and campbell are not a good combo, bradford fits the direction they want to go in

CERRATO is history in DC. Maybe we can now make a plan as to where we want the Team to go in 5 years and use a correct draft strategy to help us get there orthere abouts.

Haynesworth is a prime example of a big mistake trade/draft, never played a full season but we givehim huge money. A GREAT player on his day but give him and his elk a good / average salary with massive incentive bonuses!

We need O Line and maybe a new RB, Portis might still have the goods if he can get some blocksbut he cant get it done on his own these days.

Think the D is Good though a Lock Down CB would be nice, please dont draft gambles in 1st 3 rounds. Though maybe draft a goodinjuried player for less money hope to get a good year out of him then tade him on for a higher pick then you pais for him.

From what I've seen of Tebow, which admittedly isn't much, I cannot see how he can function in the NFL effectively.

I also don't see how he's expected to double the attendance of games in Jacksonville when he'll be on the bench for at least 1 year. There's no way he'll displace Garrard on that depth chart.

The phins also have a lot more pressing needs than yet another QB, they already have Pennington (likely will be cut I agree), Henne and Pat White. Drafting players specifically to play in their wildcat is an awful idea, especially as Ronnie Brown has proven he can throw from the formation.

Can't see him going in round 1 at all, someone wil take a flier on him at some point but all I expect from him is a lot of gimmicks, a few big plays and a helluva lot of negative plays, picks and him getting absolutely destroyed by LB's as he won't be able to run through them anymore.

am i the only one that thinks tebow could make a decent tight end?

i know he is only young and he wouldnt be able to run thru tacklers like in college.. but dont forget the lad will be training professionally full time and doing all the weights and possible *coughs* additional assistance they may get to bulk up as well.. .

i thought it the first time i saw him runniong with the ball in open field.. id heard more about him than id seen at that point..

i think he may be more effective than people think in the NFL.

Does anyone know if he can Catch/Block or run routes?

I've seen articles saying he could be drafted as a safety. WTF?! Guys at these positions have been playing there for 10 years+ when they come out of college, I can't understand why because someone is a talented athlete he automatically can play anywhere on the field.

talk of him being a full back due to his running ability,i've not see any evidence he can block but can't imagine why he couldn't.........................catch ? different story,suppose he could be developed in that area,he's unquantifiable in my book,needs to get drafted by a team who's willing to sit and develop him if he's going to be a qb.
tbh if i was after a qb i'd be getting michael vick rather that spend a load of money on a rookie and then take a quality tackle like okong,build my ol and then look to draft a qb in a few years time.
These teams at the bottom are so bad that a rookie qb ain't the answer to their problems

Since when did stats matter? If the Cornhuskers had anything like an offense, they'd have won nearly all of their games this season - thanks to the D. They've been in every game this season because of it. Forget his stats - watch him in all those games like I have - he's been unblockable all year. He is going to be in Haynesworth/Kevin Williams territory from just about the first moment he enters the league. Without doubt he's the best Defensive Lineman to come out since Seymour. Sapp, Dorsey and whoever else included.

Do you know why he's only employed on first and second down? Because the oppo normally have to throw it on third down after he's stuffed their attempts at running the ball.

He's the best pure NT to come out in a while, and teams won't care if he can't play on third down because of what he'll add to the defense on first and second down. He is spectacular.

Okung won't likely ever be the best OT in the league, but he'll be very very very solid and reliable. Think Michael Roos.

As for the depth of the Draft - if as many juniors declare as is thought, it could be as deep as I've known it.

A lot of truth in that. The sweet spot of the Draft is widely considered to be the 10-15 spot, that's where talent and cost is normally at the most optimum for teams. Been some great players drafted there down the years, especially recently - Crabtree, Orakpo and Cushing last year, Mayo, Clady and Stewart the year before, Willis and Revis in 2007, Cutler, Ngata and Bunkley in 2006.....

Locker's not coming out, Bradford's dropping with each day, Safeties are very rarely drafted top 5 let alone top 3, and Okung's marginal top 5.

Oh, and McCoy sucked, as he has done most of the year - why?

Wow. He might not even be able to participate at the Combine. He's got major work to do to even get near the top 5. If I were him I'd stay in College and sort out the concerns that have plagued me this year.

Cody is a good fit for any 3-4 team. Late 1st round. Chargers maybe as Jamal Williams struggling now.

Colts could have a nice draft this year :) , might even get a good QB in the 2/3

Cody offers very little in terms of pass rush. He is a run stuffer who is very difficult to move and thus creates a pile in the middle making it hard to run up the gut. He won't even be on the field for obvious passing situations.

I know Berry is very good but I think a lot of people are forgetting about Taylor Mays, he'll be the first safety taken for mine, he has everything that will make him stand out in the combine and for that reason I think he'll move ahead of Berry.

Mays is an athletic freak but he hasn't the iota of talent or production of Berry.

Berry will probably run a fast 40 time than Mays as it happens, and it should be interesting to see the short shuffle and 3 cone times.

Anyone picking Mays over EB is either a**or Al Davis. Which is the same thing basically.

Nayim,he's a college player and a 300lb player at that with enormous nfl potential for causing havoc and occupying offensive linemen,if you think he won't aid a pass rush then perhaps you'd like to tell me who would.

No doubt Cody can occupy 2 players inside but he won't get into the backfield as often as you'd expect. He is a prototype 3-4 system NT in that he is big enough to occupy the A gap and 2 players. 3-4 NTs are primarily run stuffers and not pass rushers.

As far as I know the Texans play a 4-3 defense so its hugely unlikely that they'll take him. If they want to improve their pass rush they'll look at the DE position.

fair point but think a 3-4 defense would get the best out of super mario and cushing looks like a star in the making there as well,they ain't far away from being a very good team.
Also begs the question what gm's would consider doing to trade up when there's some obvious blue chip performers in the draft in the likes of suh and berry. If your san francisco do you trade up your 2 first round picks to guarantee a shot at one of these players rather than take a chance on 2 others ?

Depends if you want to put all your eggs in one basket! Two ( one on either side of the ball ) cheaper good productive 1st round picks would be the way I went!

therein lies the dilemma of being a gm ! I'd rather take an all pro than 2 starters
