a good or bad lay is dependent on the prices and probabilities of future events, not what the price actually turns out to be in the future

you clearly make a terrible lay then lump alot more money at shorter odds to get out of the awful lay, nothing clever about that, just suicide betting...if it works for you good luck but you must get badly burnt at times..
