If betting the winning margins bet the margin which contains the bookmakers handicap mark in it. They are normally there or thereabouts. e.g. If the bookies have Indianapolis -14, bet them to win by 13-18 and so on.

I know a lad who backs 1-6 and 7-12 winning margins when the handicap for the game is around the 6 or 7 mark. He reckons he makes a 50% r.o.i on it, but I dont see how such a blind strategy could work myself. Lucky i guess..

Tell him to do a double or a treble with 1-6 and 7-12.

A successful double (2 x 2 = 4 bets) pays upwards of 4/1 and a successful treble (2 x 2 x 2 = 8bets) pays upwards of 12/1, depending on which margin is correct.
