Hey everyone,
I'm pretty new here and don't really have much in my account yet. What's a good way to get started into betting football? I was looking at the winning margins markets, they seem to offer nice payoffs, and with a couple good picks I could get my account rolling. Does anybody who's been around for a while have some suggestions that could help get me started?

If betting the winning margins bet the margin which contains the bookmakers handicap mark in it. They are normally there or thereabouts. e.g. If the bookies have Indianapolis -14, bet them to win by 13-18 and so on.

I know a lad who backs 1-6 and 7-12 winning margins when the handicap for the game is around the 6 or 7 mark. He reckons he makes a 50% r.o.i on it, but I dont see how such a blind strategy could work myself. Lucky i guess..

Thats quite a good theory aceshigh.
Tell him to do a double or a treble with 1-6 and 7-12. A successful double (2 x 2 = 4 bets) pays upwards of 4/1 and a successful treble (2 x 2 x 2 = 8bets) pays upwards of 12/1, depending on which margin is correct. |

Colts are -8 with bookies Pats are -7 with bookies Colts to win by 1-6 @ 4/1 Colts to win by 7-12 @ 3/1 Pats to win by 1-6 @ 4/1 Pats to win by 7-12 @ 4/1 Doubles Permutation Bet 2 x 2 = 4 seperate bets @ £10 = £40 Total Stake. Smallest return (If Correct) is a £10 double 3/1 and 4/1 = £200 for an outlay of £40, i.e. 4/1 minimum for the overall bet. |
