Couldn't agree more, I can't comprehend why a coach would turn down a chance to win a game from 2 yards in favour of a coin toss.
Report molars November 22, 2009 9:29 PM GMT
what percentage of 2 point conversions are made?
Report nik3456 November 22, 2009 9:32 PM GMT
if they didn't make it then they would of been criticised for not taking the extra point, i rememberthe cheifs did it a few years ago and and went for the 2 points last possession of the game nad got it

I think it's about 50/50 on 2pt conversions across the league.

Coaches seem to go with the thinking that in OT they have two hopes, winning the toss and scoring, losing the toss and defense making a stand.

Smith has small testicles obviously.

The legend that is Mike Shanahan did it vs the Chargers last season.

Calls like that seperate the great coaches from the no-marks.

you dont make that call at 5-4

you make that call when you have no hope
Report glory hornet November 22, 2009 9:39 PM GMT
Never gonna happen , go for it and its all over if you fail , take it to OT just because you lose the toss doesn tmean its all over , just a job for the D_Fence to step up
Report Umbo Mangoman November 22, 2009 9:42 PM GMT
at least if you go for it the game result is in your hands. Plus as ATL would have been underdogs in OT I would have gone for it

It is the call of a weak coach.

Trust your O and get the win against a tired D there and then.

More scared of press critcism for going for 2 and failing than trusting his team. Knows hell get a easier ride off the press.

Mike Smith = chump, out of the league in a few years.

2nd. Question would be : Why PAY the guy's the BIG DOLLAR"S , Then treat them like Pamperd Pus sy's ?
Instead Off : Tellling them to : " Go Out There , & Get the Job Done ! "

totally agree with you lifetaker, should have gone for the 2 points and tried to win the game. rather than let the toss of the coin decide it. Belichick would have !!
Those defences were being sliced and diced throughout the match so the team that won the toss was in prime poistion to win the match.
Report themightymac November 24, 2009 2:37 AM GMT
Bill would have went for it. :)
