Kansas @ Jax -6.5
Baltimore @ Cincinatti +3
Houston @ Indy -9.5
Green Bay @ Tampa +9.5
Arizona @ Chicago -3
Miami @ New England -10.5
Detroit @ Seattle -10
Titans @ 49ers -5.5
San Diego @ NYG -3.5
Dallas @ Philly -3
Pittsburgh @ Denver +3

Lines up, I'm liking Arizona off the bat. Cinci and Pitts are of interest as well. Packers should cover 10, even on the road. Not sure why Jax are nearly a TD favourite. Whats everyone loving?

this week there was plenty that took the eye...at 1st glance nothing really stands out...i think houston may be worth a punt on the spread...i think GB will cover the spread also...i believe the pitts@denver will be as tight as the spread suggests..tricky week

Cinny look huge value but are the most unpredictable team around, so I will pass.

Giants have been brutal last few weeks, but chargers are equally bad. They just beat up 2 bad teams, but prior to that they looked awful.
I'm not sure about Houston, Indy don't have a good history for covering home spreads I guess, but Houston struggled at times against the bills and I rank the colts D a lot better. Could easily see the Colts winning by at least a TD, so probably won't bet it, would take a look at overs at 48

Giants/Chargers is 47 btw

been really dissapointed with the giants the last few weeks, poor throws from manning again vs the eagles.
but i'll b taking them in the teazer market where they should be off level next sunday v the chargers.

Houston have had a desperately easy schedule so far. Home defeats to Jax and NYJ are looking even worse now than they did at the time. The secondary is still very poor and Manning could have a field day - only hope is that Schaub has another stormer in reply.
Report jacob_TA November 4, 2009 11:36 AM GMT
KR - losing daniels a big loss for them. Means indy can afford to double up on AJ and leave man coverage on the other receivers. Coupled with indy having a good pass D.
As for houston rushing, not been good, I don't buy anything into last week as the Bills have a terrible rush D (they allowed my browns a 100yd rusher, a 1 Jamal Lewis.....say no more?)

Anyone think there's an overreaction to the 'bad' teams getting humped in the season to date? I do have an unerring tendency towards home dogs getting big points from average teams to be fair ...

Going with the consensus on Cincy, will possibly look to take them straight up rather than with the start.

I have the Giants (-7) on my personal Handicaps list, so if I have any faith in my own marks then I`ve got to load up at -3.5. It seems to me like the bookies have overeacted to two bad games.

This weeks Pension goes on NYG and the exceptional Eli Manning, who IMO, can bounce back to form against an over-rated and disappointing Charger team.

The men in white coats are coming to get me Orioles :(

Nothing wrong with backing your judgement, Captain.

I just wouldn't fancy it with Manning in this sort of form. He's a bit like a horse who's fallen last three times out; I'd like to see the beast get round before backing it :)
Report jacob_TA November 5, 2009 10:22 AM GMT
^ Dave, normally you back it over the 3 falls, and just watch it romp home when it stands up tho :p

San Diegos D is poor, and considering oakland have won of the worse rush Ds, I'd look nothing into how they ran the ball on Oakland. I like the Giants to win by a TD (in agreement with above)
Report orioles November 5, 2009 2:23 PM GMT
Well, my horsey skills aside, I have the Giants by just less than a FG.

So your bet is probably safe :^0

hard to make a case against any of the home favs imo. would like to go with ari and sd, but they also have the west-east travel bug to contend with, ari especially with the early kickoff. but the cards were just too bad to be true last week! :( the sd run d may get ripped apart. maybe the tenn revival might continue?

While I love american football,I would openly admit I am not the most knowledgeable.
But this looks a decent bet to me.What am I missing ?
Report skyblues November 7, 2009 11:21 PM GMT
andre was never miossing sapphire. but owen daniels is on injured reserve which wont help their offence 2morrow (today) colts got their injuries aswell, i like the texans to cover.

titans going into diffrent timezones against san fran, which means i normally take the home side, thou havent done it this much this season cards another one today at bears.
titans struggling against the run and the 49ers will run run run. smith also seems ok at throwing the ball trying to stay in a job. titans still thou not as bad as their record is, i wont be betting this game.

Cheers SkyBlue,although...
Did the Colts play a full team the other week ?
How did the 49'ers manage to keep it so close if so ?
With home advantage against the Titans also.
I do realise they are both pretty pants, but it's the only bet that really took my fancy.
Report skyblues November 7, 2009 11:39 PM GMT
colts played as good as full strength as they could have, took a trick play to win it for the colts. weather manning had an off day or the 49ers def had his number im unsure.
if i was having a bet id take 49ers just because off the rushing game imo and if the 49ers are bad anywhere is the pass def which the titans wont get much from imo.
very hard week imo not sre what my best bets are im iffy on all off them.
ill take a stab and say my best 2 are
chiefs over 41
texans +8.5
