Seems like their are a lot of people on here who just don't understand Formula 1 and understand that it is a TEAM sport.

oh sorry Colldogg,I rarely watch F1 nowadays and for sure I won't be bothering in future. When I used to watch it many years ago it was the best driver/car combination that won races, nowadays it's just who they decide wins.

according to the Red Bull bloke they told the drivers to maintain position, what sort of racing is that?
The same with Hamilton |
|
By:
The racing was good, knowing that it would have been completely different if Webber had been the one behind is what is a sour, Vettel is a ****

For once we actually had a race in the real sense of the word. Like a lot of people I gave up watching F1 many years ago as its now seems like just a display of science and technology. Usually best just to watch the first and last laps and miss out the dreary 90 minute procession in the middle.
A strange event which gives a start to the best bloke, who then usually skips round the first corner and race over. Chapeau to Ecclestone who must be a marketing genius to get the media to convince the world that F1 is exciting and glamorous which it ceased to be many years ago. One of the strange things I find about F1 though is that it's actually very interesting to read about but now desperately boring to watch. Interesting as well last week that Raikkonen started 7th on the grid and still won, but actually won because after moving up to 4th he stopped less times than the others. |

Ignore the hype and promotion and there's not much there. A bit like the Emperor's new clothes. F1 is now in reality a poor relative of other motor sports for excitement.
Speedway also suffers that the first bloke round the corner usually wins but at least the race only lasts about a minute and there's about 15 races to watch on the card. |

Not allowed to overtake youre teammate, have to go slow to save fuel, have to go slow to save tires
Id be livid if i was a driver apart from the meagre consolation of billions of pounds in my bank account |

everyone jabbers on about the old days when teammates raced.
the same good old days when mclaren/williams were a second a lap faster than everyone else ![]() agree with the Bhoys. in the heat of the battle vettel was ruthless ![]() |

It's much more interesting when it's a race rather than a possession.

If I was a racer
![]() I wouldn't be happy with team orders ![]() but as Pleasegivemeanailedontip points out they do OK either way |

I dont understand merc today. Hamilton had to coast, Rosberg should have been allowed past imo

not 100% convinced same would have happened if it was the other way round. big signing new boy on podium on main sponsors home gp

Brawn reckoned that if Rosberg passed, then hamilton would fight back, Rosberg would fight back, both would run out of fuel. He cant win cos we'll never know if he was right
But he was completely wrong |
|
By:
Surely barring injury Vettel's home and hosed in this years championship.

Brawn reckoned that if Rosberg passed, then hamilton would fight back, surely (a coded version if necessary) of "Lewis you are running low on fuel. Let Rosberg passed" would solve that. Not sure what his last couple of laptimes were but they were sloooow no moves 24 Mar 13 18:23 Surely barring injury Vettel's home and hosed in this years championship. Well Alonso DNFd and Raikkonen lost 30seconds in the wet, damaged his front wing then spent most of the race behind hulkenburg huge market overreactions after oz and the same again today ![]() |

has anyone actually missed the fact that this is match fixing? id be seething if i backed rosberg for podium finnish

Brawns view seemed to be no danger in front no danger behind why jeopardise a deffo 3rd and 4th when they can coast home. Considering Lewis struggles to drive slower to manage his tires (even though he knows its faster) and Vettel couldnt live with second place and took risks, there is always a possibility of lewis eaking out a bit more then rosberg eaks out a bit more then lewis does then one or both dont finish. Its easier to not allow in-team racing after the last pit stop and stick to that rule however silly it becomes. Im not defending this though, common sense says to me, let rosberg go and hope one of the front two have a spin or something that gives the team an extra few points. Then tell Lewis he needs to look after his car better. |

By:
is lewis really the no' 1 driver at merc in the same way alonso is at ferrari......is it in his contract?
re vettel: he is quick and ruthless but i think he will live to regret that move, both through the team and webber. never thought id say this but GO FERRARI |
|
By:
I backed Webber for a podium so I have nothing to complain about but seriously in a team you can't have half the team going by the coach's instructions and half the team not. Imagine the chaos if that happened at Man U or Collingwood?
|
|
By:
hehe so when vettel is 1, webber 2, hamilton 3,rosberg 4,alonso 5,massa 6,button 7 and perez 8, the team can say no passsing, and they will all cruise to the end... yea nice race NOT!
