khabib inside the distance could be playable too..

UFC are trying to get derrick lewis vs volkov as the co main which is the most retarded idea I've heard in mma for years... surely they cant have that as the co main for the biggest mma fight of all time?!
|
|
By:
Makes sense, because they don't need to stack the card.
Going to sell millions if they put 1/2 a dozen women fights on the card, and some muppets from the contender series. |

I almost booked up to go, but I went to 226, and will just suffer until next year for another trip.

McGregor to knock him out in first or second round. Easy money.

amazing that ferguson is back so soon after that horrific knee surgery. guy is insane. he'll be the one they call to step in if mcgregor or khabib don't make it to the fight.

Tony Ferguson is a legend

Khabib by submission [4.2] here looks the bet, but as a fellow Dub i hope im wrong.

the press conference was crazy. Conor was acting like he was on cocaine or something

|
By:
could of been , he was stuttering a lot

As a fellow Dubliner i found McGregor press conference as cringeworthy, this is not the entertaining Mcgregor[ 90% of the time]we know and enjoy, the russian looks a good bet at 1.71 at this stage.

By:
I found it super cringeworthy. I wanted to hear what they had to say, but I was finding it difficult to watch it all the way

Just needling, and knows that he has to dig deeper to aggravate Khalabeeb.
I backed against McGregor when he fought Aldo, when he fought Alvarez, and I've backed against him here, too. Unlucky to anyone else who's on the Russian express, we're fooooked... Don't think he was coked up, but he'd definitely been at the Proper Twelve ![]() |

khabib looking like fedor at the face of with his stoicism. conor had a few good lines but would of been much better with fans there. probably would of been an all out brawl with them though haha. but yeah it was pretty cringe-worthy for the most part. best part was conor offering khabib some of his whiskey lol.
still liking khabib at these prices. still yet to start tape but I don't see how conor wins outside of a ko in the first 3. kinda torn though because i don't particularly like khabib or his connections. |
|
By:
I will be very interested to see if there's any follow up movement in the odds. conor got bet a little bit yesterday but there seems to be a lot of resistance for khabibs price to go higher at this area.

By:
also a little disappointed there was no face offs or questions for the other fights.

Not sure what the deal is with the forum & chrome, because my posts keep disappearing after I type them out.
Wrote a long one out the other day, and it vanished when I clicked 'post reply'. |

By:
yeah that problems been around for years, i use firefox when it happens and it seems to work on there. not had that problem for a while now though myself
|
|
By:
I tend to use Firefox also. but if you ever have that problem, if you're writing out a very long post, make sure to copy it into notepad before submitting it incase you encounter that vanishing problem Timmy

Ridiculous that Kebab is such big favourite. He's unbeaten but he has beaten nobody of note. McGregor will smash this mug. 2.6 McGregor to win and
McGregor by KO, TKO or DQ at 3.2. Yes please. ![]() |

I think Khabib is a big price and will prob get bigger before the off. There is a lot of hype and overreaction about McGregor and people tend to get swayed by that. All this talk of one-punch KO power is a prime example. He is a very good striker but Aldo sprinted onto that punch and Conor even said himself that there was no power behind it, it was just a tap. All the KO power came from Aldo's movement. McG's wrestling game is v poor as Mendes showed repeatedly and his cardio is questionable. Khabib is relentless and wears you down increasingly over the course of the fight - that means Conor's cardio is going to be tested and will be more of a factor than ever. And Khabib is much better on the ground and much stronger than Mendes.
He needs to KO Khabib or hit him with a game-changing strike within the first 3 minutes or he won't win imo. Otherwise he needs to come up with a strategy which keeps Khabib away from him and stops him taking him down. I can't see that as nobody else has ever been able to do it and Mendes took Conor down easily and said he was a very poor wrestler. Khabib hasn't even lost a round in 29 rounds in the UFC. You can say there is a question over his chin but there is no evidence that he has a weak one - he has taken all that has been thrown at him and never been knocked down. He may have a rock solid chin for all anyone knows. He hasn't fought anyone as good as McG but McG is not the type of fighter who is going to be able to deal with him on the ground, he has fought much better wrestlers than Conor and taken them down and beaten them easily. Conor has been taken down easily by worse wrestlers. There's also an assumption that McG is going to step back in after 2 years and be as good as he was before with no rustiness whatsoever?! I hope Conor wins as I think Khabib's style is ugly and boring and it will be better for the sport if Conor wins. But you have to take McG's performances over the likes of Aldo, Mendes and Alvarez in the context that they were all lighter and had a shorter reach than Conor. Those are monster advantages for a guy who is already a good mover/striker with excellent control of the distances. He has a reach advantage again tonight but I don't think that will be as relevant against a guy who only wants to fight on the ground. And the fight is at 155 which is a big thing as Conor was much heavier than his featherweight opponents when then bell rang. You only had to look at the size of him compared to Mendes and Aldo to see that. |

By:
Nice post lurka, i had a good bet on Khabib a while ago to win by submission 4.2, also have a bet on Khabib to win by submisson in rd 3 , as a dublin man part of me wants Conor to win but i cant see Conor being as good as he was after 2years out of the game, I hope its a good fight for the fans and not to much ground fighting.

I think McGregor will get the decision after a 5 round war.

The answer is in the history or the striker vs the grappler
