Computer help please

When trying to view videos eg. races, you tube,short films etc I always encounter the same problem of it stopping and starting, never getting a full run of the race. I am on broadband have two relatively new computers and they both act the same way.The message sometimes says buffering when it stops and starts. My BT line has been tested OK. Can anybody help? PLEASE
