5.25 Agouti Bear looks a worthy fav on what she's shown so far but it won't be easy from stall 17 with Sharkii and Isabella Expert drawn inside of her, both quick starters, Shamie will have to get her out sharpish to get a position. Isabella Expert only 3/4 length behind Agouti Bear at Navan has a 7lb pull and could reverse the form. Sharkii was just behind Flash the Cash lto and both hold chances, really interesting horse to me is Likedbymike travelled well for a long way at Navan on her debut and should improve a lot for that experience, looks decently bred for a sprinter and the trainer is due a bit of luck having not had a winner for 13 years, i'm hopeful of a place and would be marvellous if could win for him and me.
6.00 A horse that has done me a few good turns is Distillate who only has a 4lb rise for last win at Cork nine days ago, has won here over C/D from similar mark, Adam Caffrey keeps the ride having already won on the filly 4 times. 10 yo Ice Cold In Alex hasn't ran here for 4 years but has ran some decent races at the Curragh this summer and has dropped to its lowest ever mark, has won and come 2nd here but yonks ago over 5fs but at least handles the surface, Tai sing yeh generally runs well here and returns on a Stone lower mark than when last ran here in April, has an EW chance. Mags could go well but can't afford to miss the break again, the 2 favs are the ones Distillate has to beat imo.
6.30 Marble Angel won well here a month ago and that was a big step up on its previous form over sprint distances, only 4lb higher and i think will follow up as the win was in a decent time. Comfort Line has won over C/D 3 times and won from this mark in July, drawn wide today but may be able to get involved in the places.
7.00 Polemon won easily at Tipperary and the young inexperienced lads claim 7lbs gives him a chance again over this trip, other horse i think has a chance is Miss Paloma who won here in July over C/D for this talented young lady claimer. Stariam has 5 2nds in a row only btn a Nose and a Hd in 2 of them, has Keithen Kennedy on top who is very good and if doesn't get head in front should at least place again.
Selections Likedbymike EW Distillate EW Marble Angel Win Polemon EW
Unlucky 13 for Mike Byrne but how close traded 1.25, i had a bet at 65 on here, returned 25/1 SP, bad luck hope he doesn't have to wait another 13 years for a winner!

Distillate got anything but a clear run from the back and did well to get 4th, Mags ran well for 2nd and Tai Sing Yeh showed there's still life in him here and back to 6fs should win a race again.

Marble Arch won as was entitled to, Comfort Line got 4th so i've got the 1st 3 placed in an EW yankee with 356 (4 places last 2 races), at 25/1, 10/1 and 17/2 with Palemon going for the place yankee, just 1st 3 in 7.00 though.

Disappointing run from Polemon, held up at the back in a slowly run race, be a while until i'm tempted to back that young jockey again, Miss Paloma ran a good race for 2nd, never mind.

Not had much time today but have looked at a few races, these aren't tips just my thoughts on a few horses/races that interest me. 4.40 A pretty poor claimer and i'm not sure the 2 highest rated horses Ateenosix the fav and Ace in the pack are worth their ratings, so if i'm having a bet will be on horses that have ran well here before, Hezahunk ran a decent 2nd here in March and looks an EW chance. Adams Boy has Keithen to take 7lbs off but this 6fs may be on the short side after his staying on 5th over 7fs lto. Other horse who has ran a couple of good races here is My Boy Sioux, tends to be slowly away and finishes well, could be interesting at a decent price EW. 5.15 Adam Caffrey has some good chances tonight, Heezahunk in the 1st, I'm Spartacus in this the fav, Thompson Gunner 6.15, Comfort Line 6.45, Star Harbour 7.15 and Enough Already 7.45. Wouldn't put anyone off doing some EW multiples on his rides. James Henry and Collective Power are two Dundalk regulars and irrespective of how I'm Spartacus adjusts on 1st visit to Dundalk, has won twice on Newcastles' Straight 6fs, has the 1 draw as well but JH and CP should be in the mix at the end. I shall also be having a little Back to lay bet on Eruption who's had a very good turf campaign and is 10lb lower on the AW, can get away quickly but probably won't last it out. 6.15 Thompson Gunner ran well here last week to get placed behind Marble Angel who has been heavily backed for the 6.45, tricky h'cap and a few with a chance, Church Mountain, Royal Tribute and Mary Bagot but not a race to bet heavily on imo. 6.45 The afore mentioned Marble Angel is a worthy fav, could have had 100/30 this morning with 356, looked a cracking EW bet at that price but backed into 6/4 now. Comfort Line meets him on 5lbs better terms(weight Adjusted) for 3 lengths, didn't get a clear run and i'd go EW on him at current price 9/1 with 356. Maybe a R/F with MA.

Another winner for Adam, he's some jockey, Collective Power gets 2nd for EW backers and Eruption gets 4th, couldn't get to lead but still halved in price IR.

Quick update - Likedbymike bolted up a week later at 13/2 to give Mike Byrne first winner for 13 years. My Boy Sioux ran on strongly yesterday to be 2nd to Art of Unity as per HR thread at Bellewstown. Hezahunk goes for a quick double at 5.10 but will be difficult over 5fs, i expect Eruption to lead at a fast pace and hopefully Tai Sing Yeh can get in the places from this low mark, haven't had time to look at anything else tonight as yet, might look for something later on.

Hezahunk ran fairly well to get 3rd over an inadequate trip, Eruption completely missed the break(typical) and Tai Sing Yeh wasn't good enough over 5fs, best at 6fs imo but should be capable of running better than he has for latest trainer.

6.30 Can only think that the drift with Prisoners Dilemma is down to getting the inside draw in stall 1, won well lto here and the 2nd Mags franked the form back in a maiden here when 2nd. Has won here over 7fs 3 times now and has a 5lbs rise to contend with but has won here previously from much higher marks, was 4/1 last night, 14/1 now, might be worth an EW bet at this price but usually you want to challenge down the nearside rail, won't get that tonight. 7.30 Only other horse of interest to me tonight is Lohengrin who is back up in distance to 1m2fs, really caught my eye back in May at Cork when nearly pegging back Distillate after being a long way behind. Ran off 61 that day and gets in off 63 tonight but has Sam Coen taking 7lbs off that. By Ulysses who was pretty good at 10fs and full sister Incensed won 2 races over 11/12fs inc on AW, best when held up, has ran twice here, first time in April after leaving Haggas stable, up with leaders, weakened and eased up, last time btn 2 1/2 lengths to Comfort Line over 1m again when disputing lead. A running on 3rd at Laytown lto over 7fs, drawn in 7 not too bad, hopefully run well about 15/2, 10/1 on here.

Prisoners Dilemma ran pretty much as expected btn just over 3 lengths in eighth, rather galling that the winner was ridden by Caffrey again with the horse a 3 yo stablemate of Distillate who had an unlucky run behind Prisoners Dilemma last time. Lohengrin ran very poorly, back to turf i'd imagine after that.

Quite an interesting card today, with a few races of interest to me. 4.35 Hope to see Adam Caffrey win this on Charles Byrnes Jaafel, CB cottoned on to Adams talents quite early last year and he rode 5 winners from 14 rides for him, hasn't used him so much this year just the 5 rides with no winners, but as they come to the end of the season i'm sure he'd like to find a winner for him to clinch the apprentice title. Jaafel is best here with 4 wins and 9 more places from his 23 runs here, won on this card over C/D last year from 67 by 4 lengths, last ran here in March 2nd from 78, runs off 73 tonight, been well supported. 5.10 Elsa Pride just held on from the fast finishing Redemptive Power here a month ago, RP is 2lb better in today for 3/4 length and looks better drawn of the 2 and at a slightly bigger price gets my EW support. Church Mountain won here last week and with Kearney able to claim his full 5lb allowance leaving him just 2lb higher, just had 2 runs here, 4th over 1m and his win last week over C/D, looks sure to go well again. 5.45 San Andreas isn't the force he was now he's 8 yo, but did run some decent races here this time last year from marks in the early 100s, has slipped to 93 now and Horgan takes off 5lbs, may still have an EW chance. I haven't been convinced by Psalm and needed his claimers 7lbs to win his race here a month ago and i wouldn't rush to back him as fav at 11/10. Gesture won twice here earlier in year and looks the solid bet in the race. 6.15 Karazhal having just his 2nd run ran on really well to win here lto over 6fs beating Flash the Cash and Likedbymike who i backed at the top of thread, LBM hacked up nto beating the odds on fav by 4 lengths and is rated 90, Karazhal should be better over 7fs and hope he follows up. A proviso i don't generally follow 2 yos and Nurserys but rated just 82 you'd think has a decent chance. 6.45 Haven't looked at this in any depth but thought Ateenosix ran well in the claimer here just btn by Heezahunk, but no firm opinion on anything. 7.15 Mentioned Mags twice above and 2nd both times, appeared to improve last run from previous race and should go close again but price looks relatively short about 11/4, has gone up another couple of pounds as well, expect she'll place again at least but for an EW punt have gone for Adams Boy who has took a while to get the hang of this racing lark, usually slowly away, but last 2 runs very encouraging, 5th at Cork from the worst of the draw running on and a fast finishing 3rd here lto behind Heezahunk and Ateenosix over 6fs, has KK on board again and up a furlong think has a decent EW chance about 10/1. I'm out afterwards so haven't looked at later races.

Jaafel slowly away and never looked likely to get involved, no idea why he traded at just over Evens IR, must have been a mix up for someone. Winner was the gambled on Nibiru for JJ Ryan who along with Wayne Hassett are the other 2 apprentices in with a shout of the championship, picked the wrong one there.

Church Mountain held up at the back, produced a storming run down the nearside rail to win at 17/2, Redemptive Power travelled well, came to challenge final furlong but weakened into 5th, traded under 2/1 IR.

Didn't think Walhaan would win but got up in final strides to beat the Fav Psalm, Gesture weakened into 3rd after trying to make all, San Andreas on the downgrade 4th, wish had got 3rd.

Ronnie Whelan on Karazhal drawn widest of all had to take a pull and settle at the rear, last turning into straight and ran on well for 4th btn less than a length, winner came near side again.

Been too busy with Cheltenham to have a detailed look, might post something about 1 or 2 races. The Apprentice jockey title is coming to a close so expect J Ryan, W Hassett and Adam Caffrey to be well supported by their trainers in last couple of weeks so worth having a close look at their rides.

5.30 7fs Fillies claimer. Not a race for backing heavily imo, but the fav has a good record on the AW but only had first run here last week and her wins have all been on what i'd call sprint AW tracks, Kempton and Lingfield but has won at Newmarket on turf. Third last week after being slowly away, a bit short for my liking, i'd be thinking of EW in this race with Galician Girl of interest back here on a slightly higher mark than when winning in March and Pascalia from Johnny Murtaghs yard also won a race here last season from a similar mark. At a bigger price Chica Power with Jack Clearys 7lbs allowance could get involved after btn a length over C/D last week.

6.30 Hope to see Adam Caffrey follow up on Im Spartacus to reduce the lead to 1 behind WH and JR, won a decent 6f race over C/D and put up 8lbs but Adam can claim 3lb today and in that Apprentice race he won the 2nd,3rd and 5th all were able to claim 7lbs, so a good performance imo. Blanc De Noir narrowly beat Im Spartacus on turf but hasn't ran here before so has that Question mark, Hezahunk i've mentioned twice before, won 1st time and 3rd over 5fs lto but don't think form matches Im Spartacus.

Im Spartacus didn't have the clearest of runs but was well beaten, Blanc De Noir came with a rattling late run up the farside to win at 5/1. Hezahunk well beaten as i thought.

Notice that J Ryan won the G3 race on the card at 66/1, think that puts him one ahead in the Apprentice title race. Put Marble Arch on here at top of thread when won cosily and again nto on 27/9 when fav and ran badly, won again last night from same mark by 2 1/2 lengths, (trainer stated horse pulled too hard when fav time before.) I didn't back it last night, backed Distillate again in 3rd with the 7lb claimer on top.

As there has been no interest in the thread even on the Irish sports forum, i'll knock it on the head, has been a very good week for horses i've mentioned since the beginning who were all due after going very close from similar marks with Marble Arch, My Girl Sioux, Comfort Line and Mags getting their heads in front at Dundalk this past week.

Notice that James Henry runs again today, gave it a mention towards top of thread when refused to race, out again quickly after carrying 7lbs overweight 2 days ago in an 11k h'cap, back on proper mark today, btn less than 2 lengths in 4th on Wed, surely has to go close tonight.

Indeed, very clicky, i've actually put up threads over there with no one replying even after they have produced winners at 10/1, not like it used to be, you'd get 2 pages of "well dones" etc, but it's dead here. Had put a few Dundalk Threads on main Horse racing thread before but no one interested except to say, "you can't win betting in Ireland, as it's all bent" etc, so put some thoughts up here but again no interest, but helps me recall why i fancied a horse before, jogging the old memory box.

Karazhal i put up on the 18th Oct runs in the 4.30 and really should win after getting much too far off the pace lto when a fast finishing 4th, will be disappointed if he doesn't win well. Other horse highlighted when he won Hezahunk, ran a blinder lto to finish 2nd at 25/1, goes in the 6.00 with KK aboard but back up in trip to 6fs may not suit him as was a pretty weak race he won, may have an EW chance. Have reviewed 3.30 race over on HR forum.
