with the affordabilty checks coming up(wages slips anyone?) id say they will close a lot more. shops account for 6% of all turn over and are basically there to avdertise the brand on main streets etc.

Under what legislation are bookmakers required to ask Irish residents for proof of income?

I must say I find the late opening hours an abomination. Walking home after a few pints its always the same clientele: young men in 20's and 30's throwing away their hard-earned on computer games and stuff where the margin against them is pure greed and theft.
I detest the likes of Powers and their chuckling henchmen ably abetted by virtually every well-known name in the game.
