You have to admire the neck of this government who expect that their "Shutdown" of the country on the pretence of controlling a virus (Yes you heard that right, this Govt thought they could legislate against a virus) would have no knock on effects on companies.
The airport shut in everything but name for nearly two years. Did the Govt think that the foreign nationals who work for buttons and are a backbone of employment in this place were just going to hang around and pay extortionate Dublin rents whilst the Govt made a balls of everything they touch.
Went though the place a couple of weeks ago and I'd say the place is in a far worse state than just simply a shortage on security. Massive queues at food outlets. The baby changing rooms hadn't been cleaned in over 24 hours with exposed nappies up the walls.
On the way back there was a single person disembarking luggage on our flight and had to wait over an hour for bags in arrivals. Dumped bags all over the place in arrivals as well.
In a lovely turn for the CEO of the DAA Dalton Philips, he is taking over from Simon Coveneys brother at Greencore......Luverly Jubbly
