The Masters in late Autumn will be a different test from the usual Spring setting. With a field of 94, you can cut this in half right away between past champions, no hopes and 26 rookies(Last first time winner Zoeller in 1979).
With lower temps and shorter daylight this time of the year and recent rain in the area, the course will play long. So look for all the big hitters to come to the fore come Sunday.
Unsurprisingly, most of the big hitters are at the top of the betting, and I honestly couldn't put anyone off backing any of the top 7 or 8, but you can't back them all, so I have whittled them down thru, form, putting and course Form.
Thomas and Mcilroy aren't consistently good enough putters to win at August, you are hoping for a streaky week and at the prices on offer not for me. Dechambeau could blow this course apart like he did at the US Open but his record here in 3 outings is not great and on that count and price I'll leave alone.
My idea of the winner, comes from a list of 3:
Dustin Johnson is my first choice. He came back from Covid with a T3rd at the Houston Open just last night. His record at August the past 5 years, shows a 2nd, 4th and 6th with an average score of 70.2. He's long and straight, great with his irons and consistent with the putter. I can't see how he's not thereabouts Sunday afternoon.
Next for me is John Rahm. Seems to have calmed down this past couple of seasons, Rahms 7/8 of his rounds at August have been under par. A great putter imo, his driving is long and adequate enough and recent form has been good.
Xander Schaufelle must be up there as the most consistent players this past year or so, and showed last year he was an August player with a T2n to Tiger.
Some mid range odds worth a mention, Bubba, Justin Rose and F Molinari, and an outsider he might go well at big odds, Sebastian Munoz.
The Masters
Dunston Johnson 11.5 Exchange. 6pts John Rahm 12.5 Exchange 2pts Xander Schauffele 18.0 Exchange 2pts
Nice write up Dep, sportsbook here, powers, boyles , are giving the first 10 1/5 odds eachway but their odds are not as good as others, but with only 94 starters their might be value, as you say many of the starters look to have no chance, If you go with Hatton or Finau you can get almost 6/1 on sportbook or PP for a top 10 finish. Punters are looking for 3/1 on the Exchanges but of course the odds are shorter on the win part of the bet. The next 2 days will be spent studying were there might be some value. goodluck

Hatton at 6/1 top 10, is a steal Frank, I'll have to have a look, don't bet with Books but do have a PP account. Match bets will be interesting also, hopefully Fred Couple's paired against SLyle.

Good bet if a few of there shops were open Dep, Around 1.7 to be in the top 40 here, I had a account with them a few years ago but they closed it down on me, Sportbook the same.

If the cut is -1 , looks like there will be a lot of players who can win with two consecutive low rounds . Would not be taking any short prices until the last nine on Sunday .
The absence of spectators means we can see more about the contours of the course , roll on Sat and Sun !
