Looked as if it needed it alright, the step up that is,as Gordon said though Punch,it's hard for him to keep his horses apart so he needed to drop this lad today, doubt he'll run over 2 again.

Workrider, two things here. The modern generation don’t believe in attending race meetings, in fact a lot of the middle aged band have packed it in as well , and for good reason. Entry fee, third world facilities , sheep dog food, petrol , and for some , the possibility of picking up penalty points, or maybe even caught drink driving. Why would people bother going ? And secondly, and this is the most important thing, when catch me if you can joins a thread, it’s an instant killer. Virtually nobody engages with him, and haven’t done so for years. While he still persists and keeps posting his complete and utter nonsense, the Irish forum will remain as dead as a dodo. If I see him on a thread , I just ignore it, and I assume many others do the same . Maybe that’s why nobody took up your offer.

I find myself agreeing with you on certain points Jimeen, but compered to the U.K. entry to most Irish meetings are cheap. Food has become a bigger issue for me and what was served up to me at several meetings recently was to put it mildly shocking.Since Dobbings left Punchestown it simply has deteriorated imo, prices have gone up put standards have dropped,to the effect I hardly ever eat there anymore.I watched ATR this morning and caught Robbie getting very upset after riding Death Duty to victory and missed why,I think it was something to do with one of the owners benn unwell ?.

I think jury duty is owned by a syndicate of guys that Robert Power is friends with, one of which is exceptionally sick by the sounds of things. The chap went to school with Robert Power so he’s obviously a very young man, so that is why there was a higher level of emotion than normal after a win. It’s very sad really for someone so young to be struck down with such an illness , and reading about it, there seems no hope for this poor guy. As for the food at the races, I try never to eat anymore at Irish meetings if at all possible , although sometimes I have no choice, but it’s a rarity nowadays thank god. I’d try a sandwich in Thurles and maybe sausages and chips in the leisure centre place in leopardstown, but that’s it. Some of them tracks , id rather eat my shoes and socks.

Thanks Jimeen, sad to hear that kind of thing, he really wanted to shed a tear only Gary brought him back to the present moment. As you say terrible thing for the young man, hopefully he pulls through .

I saw your posts Pecker,i thought thet were mild enough and factual.
I don't get the reason why they were romoved but rather than simply "removing" i know if it was my business i would have come on the forum, asked you why you made them, how we can improve etc. Pure common sense rather than the stagnant surveys, poor promotions etc.
Have to admit i never rated Robbie Power until last season but he is a credit to racing in many ways now.

Just a little constructive criticism...But that's not allowed.
Toby! Wankstains!..I remember hearing that when i was 14...
Not sure the lads will recover...

I said something about his bed sheets been in an awful state after his outburst that disappeared as well, just come back from Arundel castle,Dunlops place of old,the memories came flooding back, some smashing horses came out of there, the fish and chips were tasty as well but the battle to walk up the hill back to the hotel was something else Pa.

Ciaran Collins, part of the Sideways Syndicate which owns Jury Duty, lost his battle with cancer just days after the Gordon Elliott-trained six-year-old won the the Grade 2 Florida Pearl Novice Chase at Punchestown on Sunday and reduced winning jockey Robbie Power to tears.
Power's post-race interview on Attheraces made for very sad viewing as he dedicated the success to his life-long field Collins, whom he went to primary school with.
Collins will repose at his home on Moyglare Road, Maynooth on Thursday, November 23 from 2pm to 8pm. There will be a funeral mass on Friday at 3pm in the Church of the Nativity, Moynalvey followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Irish Cancer Society.

Hope Paul Townend gets back to winning ways today. Has 4 excellent chances. Yesterday was unfortunate but it was a mistake and he rarely makes them. Still an absolutely brilliant jockey.

cyclops • February 20, 2019 8:47 AM GMT I suspect Laurina will end up in the Mares. It would be an extraordinary preparation for a Champion Hurdle to have never run against a horse rated more than 147 (Stormy Ireland, today) and never to have run in any sort of competitive race (in terms of the highest class at least). With Apples Jade set to go for the big one, the door is open for Laurina and I suspect she'll head that way, regardless of today's proceedings. 4/1 is very tempting.
