- Taoiseach's pay due to jump by €21,000 over next three years - TDs to get salary rises worth more than €3,600 - Finance Minister considering delaying the increase
TDs are in line for two pay rises worth more than €3,600 on the first day of the new year - and the Taoiseach's pay is set to soar by more than €21,000 in the next three years under a new wage deal.
So Teresa May earns ST£149,440 .. that is €169,112
Leo / Irish Taoiseach BEFORE this hike - €190,233
Leo / Irish Taoiseach AFTER this hike - €211,588
Wages of deputies would rise from €89,965 to more than €93,598 on January 1 because of a wage increase due under the Lansdowne Road Agreement, plus a second pay rise of 1pc due under a new extension to that deal.
Mediocre football players can get(can't say 'earn') millions per season when many of them would struggle to hit a barn door from 5 yards....don't see too many getting in a lather about that. Likewise radio presenters can get millions a year for sitting in a studio chattering and spouting clichés for a few hours a week. Almost all presenters I hear spend their time announcing ad breaks ,details of 'competitions', reading out of newspapers and asking obvious questions with a battery of assistants and researchers behind them. Money for old rope. I don't begrudge a good rate of pay to politicians who bear responsibility for many serious issues 24/7/365 , have no real job security and ironically, are constantly criticised by the studio sloths who bear little or no responsibility for anything -unless it be fomenting populist outrage to hoist ratings.

Workrider, I see that your enforced break hasn't made any difference to the quality of posts. Out of context , unadulterated gibberish as per normal. But then again that's hardly surprising, and the people who said that you would fukk up the forum were 100% right , and now it looks like you are back to close it down fully.

Liam Cosgrave seemed like a decent oul' skin despite all the pension he received and I think its a great mark of the man and his family that he/they declined the offer of a State funeral , saving the Country time and money. What are the odds weasel-loser Bertie will feel entitled to one ? I'd love to see some Journalist ask him and ask him to justify it.
