It is horse racing, not jockey racing.

I'm one of Pats biggest fans,but he has not been at his best recently,he has lost a few that normally he'd have pulled out of the fire.As Mayoman has already noted its not just Weld who he's been riding for either.

weld had big priced winner today but his are not running well tbf, 4 weeks to galway?i think this year we may see him not fire as normal?

Hate slating Pat Tony,but he is right out of form and as we know this game is about confidence,and atm Pat is lacking in that department.

One things for sure Weld is going to have a lot of well handicapped horses in Galway.

Hard to believe a qualified vet would 'chance' running his horses if he thought they were sick.  How much convincing does he need.

Keane is muster and it helps when his main stable supplier's horses are not suffering internally.

talk of a virus in the weld yard over on the main forum too - hard for PS to have any confidence when you know they're not 100% - if it is a virus you'd wonder why a vet is letting these lads run though

Pat Smullen should have left Weld years ago , he is far too good a rider to be saddled with Mr Pink. There looks like there is a lack of ambition on Smullens behalf, as he could surely have got a better retainer with his talent. It's only in the latter years that he ventured across the sea on any kind of a regular basis, and it's possible that he may have lost his opportunity now .

Pat is very much a family man and would not be prepared to move for those reason from what I gather,you think he hasn't been headhunted of course he has.

It's not like he'd have been riding in New Zealand, he could have ridden in Britain and still lived in Ireland. Moore hasn't much problem doing it, neither did Geraghty or Walsh
