A pleasant day weather wise with the usual regular crowd in attendance. Lucky winner of the ist , firstly Fogarty who hasn't the brain of a pea not putting away the winner when he was able to, and then Danny Mullins decking his horse when looking a likely winner. Second race was even more eventful but Corbett who rode Twiss's Hill should really go away and have a lie down for himself, absolutely inexcusable what he did. Third was classic Ruby , a vintage ride beating Flanagan who knocked down half the hurdles and gave the outside to nobody all the way round. Russell was excellent on the hitherto dissapointing Call The Taxie, it just goes to show what difference a jockey makes on a horse. It's also funny how the good jockeys are always on the inside while the knobbs are 4 wide going round every bend. Sutton Manor and Clounts Meadow won the two handicaps in good fashion while the bumper went to Patrick Mullins who as usual was allowed dictate on his own terms while all the other ginnits left him off. Barry Connells mate went off a well backed 7/2 second favourite and even by Barry's standards this really was embarrassing. Beat with a circuit to go and couldn't walk going over the line. All in all a good days racing where half the races were won by the wrong horse.
Still can't believe the novice chase. Proves the old adage that your never beaten. As regards 1st race thought J Kennedys ride on the jolly was, to say the least, atrocious. Thankfully didnt bother backing it. Knew when i seen the drift all was not well.

The sun was out,the sky was blue and God was in his heaven.
Alarming drift on Realt Mor in the first, made a mistake at just the wrong time. Draycott Place would have won if he had stood up.
Twiss's Hill desperate unlucky but unfair to blame young Corbett, she just ran down the fence. I had a small bet on Misty Lady at 10/1,was embracing my luck when she fell in a hole and got caught on the run in.
Here I think Flanagan made an understandable mistake. Tin Soldier looked to be pulling himself up passing the stands,Flanagan noticed this and just thought he had Champagne Classic to beat and rode accordingly, got mugged by an inspired Ruby.
Davy Russell was very good on Call The Taxie,ye may have collected but he's no good
Lisa ONeill was polished on easy winner Sutton Place, wide margins with horses finishing exhausted.
Michael Winters had a nicely supported winner in the Ladies race. Horse to take out of it King Blue who was left a considerable distance, made up his ground quickly and paid the penalty in the end.
Martello Tower was runner up to a not fully wound up Fayonagh ( best bumper mare by a mile ) in Naas, had two other fine placed efforts at premier tracks. She got me out of jail and won in an absolute canter, she was amazingly weak in the ring. The new phenomenon of a horse shortening without their appearing to be a bob for it happened here in the shape of Marta Mes. She is trained by the hapless Alan Fleming and duly disgraced herself

Realt Mor is a 12 year old who is quite clearly not consistent. He made a bad mistake at the top of the hill too which wouldn't have helped. He is a horse who is not really a betting proposition

In fairness the Thurles executive didn't forget your retirement from Irish racing either . Frank Finnigan gave a rendition of you got to know when to fold them out in the middle of the betting ring, and they also had a minute silence in memory of your last €150 that you had on anibale fly.

The forum that was. Good to see a opinionated humorous post and replies. I thought meades horse mouton-- that got beat by tin soldier didn't jump well. If noel can get him jumping proper there is a decent race to be won with it.
