Dodgy jumper having fallen in his last race, but he's been running okay all told, plus I have a soft spot for him having backed him in the Cheltenham bumper @ 25/1 which he won. I thought he was going well enough the last day ,yes it was early. His run at Navan was over a trip way too short and tomorrows trip is more up his street . Billys are showing him around the 8/1 mark,if standing up can't see him been out of the first 3.

No surprise to see Charlie Stout(3.10) being backed, strong form, surely will be tough to beat?

Pa, I was in Thurles the day he won, looks as if he has to be produced very late ,traveled very strongly for most of the race, when he took it up it looked all over, but when he hit the front he idled . You'd be hoping they held on to it till near the line this time, thats some hill at Naas and if he starts to wander he could be run out of it.

Thanks WR,yes a strong traveller alright, bit unlucky not to be a bit closer at Leopardstown in better class,
agree he needs to be held on to. Still hill is there for all of them, obvious but really fancy it.
Ruby looks to be "ducking" fences ahead of Faugheen.

Another gamble landed by Luke McMahon in a maidan hurdle. Early drift and then punt it off the boards just before the off like cilos emery @ Navan. Strong mention for it by Ruby in his column in the Examiner this morning.

Briar was very disappointing, time to forget about him for the minute,Well done Pa,I backed the second, also backed the second in the bumper so a bad day all round.

Briar Hill never looked like being competitive.
Odd days racing with the demise of Many Clouds, Thistlecrack looked "human",Vroom Vrooms bubble burst as well.
Uknowwhatimeanharrys in what looked a total domination blotted by idling, Faugheen looking to have problems, a days racing best forgotten about.
Report workrider January 28, 2017 7:30 PM GMT
Terrible about Many Clouds died giving of his best poor thing. Vroom had a much harder race than they envisaged ,might have knocked the edge off her for Cheltenham,Willies ammo looking a lot less this year .

If they were going to be ruthless, they'd look for a jockey that could settle Thistlecrack, Walsh, Russel, even Fehily. He'll win easy if he settles better I think.

How right you are Newapproach always manages to get good prices.
Its his ruthlessness that does it,tells all and sundry not to back it,some of his greedier " friends " do a bit of laying further making the price for him.

Whatever money was made on Augustin paled into insignificance when compared to what was made on the Limestone Lad Hurdle.
Ivan Grozny was marbh, huge lays forced this out from 1.69 to 2.7,these same layers decided to augment their winnings by backing Supasundae and Sutton Place.

This is where the Stewards are useless, they should have been aware of the smell and conveyed it to the trainer and jockey before the race, that would have got them thinking.
