No Joe, one would have got his £2.32(max) at 7/4 with the sportsbook rather that the poor sob trying at the time of the earlier post getting £16 at 2.7 before commisson with the exchange.
Sportsbook is well documented, a childs pocket money bookmaker despite the claims of reps taking this and that.
I looked this evening at Dundalks markets,they arten't worth now bothering with,they have been like that for a long time regarding Irish racing, it is only a last 10 minute job now with few exceptions here.
It(betfair) is the last port for a bet in a lot of cases now imo.

Seriously, they are doing nothing for the exchange,anyone that want's to try and make a market will be priced out if they are successful and it has just degenerated into one bot trying to beat another, the peer to peer element is long gone,the downhill slide is quite spectacular to me than even 2/3 years ago.

I would imagine it is impossible to win laying horses on exchanges over a period of time.I have been that soldier.Put simply if you lay into a market that is just above 100% and Leon Blanches friends the"Faces"know some runner or maybe even 2 of them are back of the neck your laying into a 60 or 70% market.Result you will do your money as many have.Laying is for the birds.I,d prefer mine with long legs and stilettos.

That is a very fair point By Purpose particulary with Irish racing.
To be fair the "prices" have improved from overnight though little liquidity,ie Magnification 3.6 against 2/1 gen, Elaria 3.85 against 2/1 gen.
Though even given it is Dundalk the sp should in theory if it stayed the same be at least 9/4.
I think golf has gone though, the layers/market makers had also an impossible task,an "ask" for a general books price i find rarely gets matched unless circumstance change for the worse.

The only way to make money on here laying is to know which one(s) is/are not off.

As an aside Tom Hogan seemed to give his other runner a chance of running well(33/1) one dire race and at that price it won't hurt to have a small ew.

Comments re betting markets at Dundalk date back many years now , only for those in the know or some who can control the market . The rest of average punters should avoid it like the plague .

The bookmaking chains / exchange owners / players have all the markets more or less sussed now .  Golf markets in particular offer nothing to anyone interested in being a layer , so few play a game they cant win .

In running the only thing "they " cant control , things happen too fast . But you have to be oncourse or courtside to have a chance .
