a nice treat to be able to see the races after the last 3 weeks at Ptown Gowran the first at Thurles.
Landofhopeandglory is a good hardy sort but will be bypassed by mid March imo. a truer run race will suit the 3rd horse home.
a substandard Royal Bond was won by Danny Mullins executing a well judged frontrunning ride on Airlie Beach.
Ruby will surely have nightmares about the Hattons Grace and well done Gordon for been brave.
Drinmore produced a very competitive race but I don't think we saw any future stars in it.Getaway had a great last race filling the first 2 spots and is a sire to follow like most of Monsuns progeny.
I noted that there was  a bookie located in the bobbyjo bar and was informed that the jameson stand also had bookies indoors.
is this the way from now on ? if so great a nice afternoons racing and take money from a bookie in comfort happy days
un de sceaux was brave but wont win a QUEEN MUM on the display
any thoughts ??7

Think it was the O'Learys pushed Elliot to run Apples jade from the quotes after the race.

I don't think anything that Un De Sceuax beat in the Tingle Creek beats him at Cheltenham, Ar mad and God's Own both wanna go right handed (and are inferior anyway). Sire De Grugy won't go to Cheltenham and had his chance there up the hill where UDS stuck his head down and did him in.

The only yoke that beats UDS is probably Douvan. UDS is just a better class of a horse than the thing the Potts' bought, nothing that horse did in handicaps or in that Cheltenham Grade 2 is beyond UDS. I think he was a little bit below himself last season, has become more tractable and might be coming back to his best.

Wouldn't like to say what Coney Island won't do, his trainer handled Captain Cee Bee masterfully and that is half the battle. Just read Gary Moore wants to step Ar Mad up to 3 miles, bloody hell!

yes I agree E Harty is a master of producing horses for a big day but imo the Drinmore was not a true test of stamina because of the ground.
maybe Eddie Giggy did put pressure on Elliot but it was still brave to run her and interesting that he values Ryan McE as much as D Wachman did as a confidant.
I would have thought his big entourage would contain enough bright minds to consult with??
I see his man Olly purchased a cheap horse from Jim Culotty today at Ascot

Tingle Creek was an awful race, they all finished in a heap. It was an exciting race with a vintage winning ride but the literal form isn't worth tuppence.

God's own beaten a length and an exposed 24 runner 150 rated horse beaten 5 lengths. 2 Mile division apart from Douvan is desperate, Altior would probably be next best even with only 2 soft races.

UDS is limited on good ground over 2 miles, the only race he might be in at Cheltenham is the Ryanair.

Lads I've totally fckin blanked on Altior, apologies. He looked very good on Saturday obviously. Yeah, UDS would have to find a bit now it looks like.

Coney Island will only get better when stepped up in trip,
No better man to get the best out of him.
Altior is clearly very good but I'd always worry about a flat bred horse long term over fences, time will tell.

Not really new with books indoors, different code i know but remember that in the stand in the old greyhound track on the Western Rd in Cork(late70's/early 80's), the odds were even more terrible than the usual books greyhound odds.
I was impressed with Getabird,Campeador is well treated, have a doubt Coney Island will run as well again but maybe i'm underestimating that run.

Barrett was the bookie in the Meath Gaa room.
Report CALLING CARD December 9, 2016 5:55 PM GMT
surely the way forward for the ring is to be in all areas of the track like the uk, but the prices offered must be monitored and reflect the ring prices.
the 2 upstairs in the MEATH gaa area definitely kept it a little tight but not as bad as some might
