great if like me you agree with nationhood and want the foundation stone of your society to be the long held Christian values. my vision of the world is returning. very bad news, if you are a liberal atheist seeking a global world...your race is run....perhaps you could locate an uninhabited island in the south pacific and make it your utopia. I have to say my image of you keen leader is someone with a rosary beads in one hand and the Racing Post in the other. Why do views have to be so set in stone? A lot of what you write smacks of some bitterness and resentment presumably building up over many years as you saw old certainties disappear typified by a rant at a demographic 40 years ago! The constituencies you paint above are minorities and most of us stumble in the space in between trying to make sense of a world twisted with bitterness, prejudice and inequality. I can't see that this situation has be bad news or greats new depending on the label fastened to one's back by those who want to see the world as yes or no, black or white, great and bad: this is not the world I live in. Trump's win - against the popular vote - obviously shows a country divided down the middle. If Republicans now think that their politics will rule the world where intolerance seems to be so fashionable we are all in for a torrid time. If Trump is "successful" based on his past achievements I wouldn't be holding my breath if I lived in the rust belt. On the other hand, Sanders supporters are a motley crew and are craving for policies that are extremely unfashionable and probably unworkable. I think its hard enough to define real Democratic policies today or perhaps "believe" them would be a better term. Obama, as you say, was a great orator but to call him a disaster when he was spancilled in the House for all those years is pure bias. Less of the jubilation over predicting lots of job losses for our friends and families-I find that pretty nauseating. |

I have never understood the liberals love of Islam.
I have never understood the feminists love of Islam The answer however is here, its in Rock Piper, its in Royal Academy. They both have this visceral hate of the a Catholic Church, this is so deep that it makes them support a religion that is barbaric. Both sneer at the working class, sneer even more at people on benefits ( this sneering is solely for the indigenous ) this is part of the self hatred. Any show of patriotism is also sneered at,flag waving or singing almost a crime. The smashing of the nation state is their goal. If they achieve it they will soon find that a great culture will have been taken over by a dreadful one. |
|
By:
It staggers me that the 'progressive' and 'tolerant' types truly believe that followers of a well-known Peaceful Religion would spare them the bullet, the bomb and the beheading sword.
As we saw in Paris, Brussels and umpteen countries across the world, the peace-lovers bomb and shoot indiscriminately when they carry out their atrocities. The apologists don't get an advance tip-off to clear out of the area they reduce to carnage. The Illegal Immigrants and criminals in Calais would unhesitatingly trample over the 'No Borders' supporters in a moment if it mean they could force their way into Britain. |

Here Oscar Wild don't be conflating me with Ozy or projecting opinions onto me I don't hold. The last time I dipped my toe into this cesspool you or some of mates denied I existed and said that Rocketfingers and I were the same person. This caused me deep physic damage at an existential level and when I looked in the mirror I no longer had a reflection a bit like Count Dracula.
You may define yourself by your hatreds, but I don't do hatred its too hungry a vice. As well as a yoga practitioner, I am also a qualified long distance psychologist. I have being studying you. You have deep anger issues, low self esteem and most importantly a buttoned up prudery when it comes to anything approaching sexual matters. Classic symptoms, easy diagnosis. I prescribe an course of Vedanta at my school here. The bliss you will feel will allow you to see your true self for the first time, and before you know it your nuptial photos will be in the GCN and yourself and your husband will be away doing a bit of refugee tourism in the Calais jungle on your honeymoon. |

By:
All the hatred is on your side.
I hate no one Ozymandius is the epitome of hate. Rock Piper you started with a real good betting proposition but even in that your condescension shines through, you called people thick, knocks, mouth frothing, crawling back into nests. You slipped in boastful facts about yourself whilst claiming those who disagree with you are on the " national tit " You even got a dig about a child sex ring operating in your school. You followed Nate Silver yet you have shown you have no knowledge of American politics. Your take on working class voters was embarrassing, you seemed never to have heard of the Southern strategy. In your superior way you called this place a cesspool when describing the last time you were on adiscussion on here. I remember that, you were expressing all sorts of hatred about Shamrock Robers supporters. Finally like most liberals who have all the ride on views you think the best way to insult me is to imply I'm homosexual because at the back of your angry mind you think its a bad thing. |

By:
Wildman, your last post is proof positive to me as to how "truthiness" has such a foothold.
It's always a good idea to call someone out - just in case their interest in a topic is faltering - as one may assume that they will defend themselves against any calumny. (And I know from past experience you will ignore most of my reply). My view on Islam, if you are interested, is that it has been hijacked by extremists and is following an agenda set by those with so many vested interests in so many outcomes. Like Catholicism, it is dogmatic on many issues a lot of them cretinous - to the point of extremism but many will choose their own path on matters such as contraception and abortion. One cannot impose beliefs on horse or man/woman. Religion should be a crutch to negotiate life's snakes and ladders. You paint me as this arch liberal with visceral hatreds matched by those on the right. You cannot point to a single statement of mine supporting Islam. I support helping those in need. Period! This is a Christian value in as much as its a value held dearly by what I would regard as most "reasonable" humans. I aspire to Christ's teaching of "Love thy neighbour as thyself" and I fail miserably most of the time. When I call you and others to account for your views its because I still see the monolith that has crumbled at an institutional level but is protected and guarded by the foot soldiers who cannot abide to see the Catholic church influence fade. My objection is the blind loyalty that makes a lot intolerant of other creeds and races and when things get tough finds lots of available scapegoats. Simply put, such attitudes, in my view, are very unchristian whatever about the Church itself and its miracles and saints and dogmas and misogyny and old men telling us all how to live our lives. You'll no doubt tell me to remove the scales from my eyes but that's par for the course with you. |

You do a good bit of name calling yourself Oscar, in fact its all you do. You are the ruination of this forum you really are, you have your twisted "patriot" pals gloating at the prospect of Irish people losing their jobs. There is something deeply wrong with you, regarding the child sex ring at my school, that wasn't a dig, it is a fact.
The abuse was physical as well as sexual and I saw some horrendous things at that school but thank god I didn't get to see the worse. Many people I know remain deeply traumatized, and will remain so until they die, there have been terrible downstream repercussions, including a victim killing an enabler within his own family. It is interesting to me that you have brought it up because I don't see exactly where it fits in to the rest of your narrative. |
|
By:
No one gloated at the prospect of anyone losing their jobs although its interesting that the great Internationalist suddenly gets all insular when he is affected.
The narrative you painted about yourself was you arrived in this terrible backward country where the savages were defecating where they stood but the EU managed to civilise us. You naturally were above all this, the thicks, the Knucks were all around but you rose above. Again you had to introduce this other horror you had to endure, the ubiquitous sex ring, all the buzz words are there " deeply traumatised " " terrible downstream repercussions " I don't know where you are from but you've got a living in this country as has your sister yet you are full of hate for the to you uncivilised natives. Anyone who in anyway is patriotic is twisted. |
|
By:
No one was "gloating" at anyone losing jobs, you Rock Piper named dropped they were "senior professionals", what are they earning if that is the case? They certainly aren't living on jam sandwiches anyway.
Twisting, it is a worry, that is all,the timeframe is long and likely not to even happen. Keep it honest. |

"You even got a dig about a child sex ring operating in your school".
Wildemanfromborneo interprets a comment I made about the child sex ring in St Johns NS, Sligo as a dig, (four teaching colleagues were convicted of abuse, they were tried separately, but it is known locally but not nationally to have been a ring ). I found that very curious, when you give somebody a dig, you exploit a weakness you know exists in a person. "Again you had to introduce this other horror you had to endure, the ubiquitous sex ring, all the buzz words are there " deeply traumatised " " terrible downstream repercussions "". He later calls or rather reduces the suffering of abused children to the term "buzzwords", meaning they didn't suffer, and if they didn't suffer, are we to assume they enjoyed it. Sometimes our words reveal more than we intend, what are we to make of these words? |
|
By:
Something wrong here, there is something that is not sitting right with me reading the comments of Wildmanfromborneo/Dark Rosie, i am starting to feel nervous, anxious if you like when i see wildman/Dark Rosie post on here as the mask slides from his face. I think we could see a campaign to have Wildman brought to justify these comments Rock. Wildman you're walking a tightrope in relation to these comments, Rock piper is doing some job exposing you (Online), i would ask people to check their local registers.

By:
The two sexually insecure forumites are seeing stuff that isint there.
Neither can follow long threads but the main thrust of my argument is that Rock Piper introduced this aspect as a way of eliciting sympathy. It was also in the middle of a diatribe against Ireland,we were in his words defecating where we stood when he arrived here,we were backward and barely literate,I disputed that too. |

I can see where the love affair is heading re Ragsy and Piper , Sligo is the common denominator ,Piper settled up there and Ragsy is embracing him as a fellow Countyman ,forgetting of course that he's not.Where on this beautiful planet does Piper hail from I ask myself ,a place full of indoor toilets wow I'm impressed, maybe it even had electricity ,come on Piper don't keep us in suspense.
