I think the Tipp forwards could run riot today and expose this Kilkenny defence.
Report kavvie September 4, 2016 10:28 AM BST
tipp to win.they got everything in their favour.kks main man  mick fennelly a huge loss..if they cant win today they will never beat this current kk group..id love to see limerick winning the minor but the tipp team(like the kerry minor footballers) look special...

Same old same old tipp , Kk to get the cream

Hoping Tipp win ,playing golf with 4 Tipp men this week ,if they get beat it'll be a long week for me...
Report Kelly September 4, 2016 11:31 AM BST
I expect a fluctuating match as the odds indicate . Cannot call it , the Cats have not looked as good this year , but they have a habit of always coming out with the ball . Hope the weather is good  , OK up here , not sure about Dublin .
Report by purpose September 4, 2016 11:45 AM BST
Think its gonna be a long week for the Tipp men no matter what happens.

Cats drifting,more profits hopefully
Report peckerdunne September 4, 2016 3:21 PM BST
Just took 2.42 Kilkenny

I will be shocked if that's not a tradable price

You would think there'd be no one in the goal and Tipp have buried 2 already..

A mighty battle ahead.
Report no-won-sun September 4, 2016 4:19 PM BST
Still expect "cats" to win by about 6 or 7 points
Report peckerdunne September 4, 2016 5:00 PM BST
Got my trade after cats goal.

Well played Tipp, best team won clearly.

Bad language like that not required Bubbles.A severe lack of class.
Report mitch leary September 4, 2016 5:06 PM BST
Absolutely. No need for that after a great performance. Seems like a bit of a pup.
Callanan out of this world.

Report Ozymandius September 4, 2016 5:09 PM BST
Only sport I know of that the victory speech doesn't begin with a nod towards the vanquished opponents.  Most unseemly.

I say this every year.
Report neill d September 4, 2016 5:12 PM BST
One of the great hurling teams.
Report GANT007 September 4, 2016 5:13 PM BST
Rocketfinger/Ozymandius.......You bring this up every year to be fair to you......It's at the end of the speech in GAA and your other annual query.....there are no runner up medals.
Report neill d September 4, 2016 5:15 PM BST
I'm from Limerick and hate Tipp, but I fckin love that Tipp team. Unbelievable ability and great to see them finally overcome KK after they should've won in 14.
Report GANT007 September 4, 2016 5:16 PM BST
Why do you hate Tipp?.
Report Ozymandius September 4, 2016 5:17 PM BST
It should be at the beginning...as it is in every civillised sport.  Begin with respect to your opponents.

Instead we have a gossun wailing triumphantly like a banshee abut all in sundry.  Commiseration to the opponents is tagged on at the end as an afterthought.
Report Mordin. September 4, 2016 5:18 PM BST
Really enjoyed that, time for Cody to go, Tipperary great GAA county, when Kilkenny have a team good enough to play in the Football semi-final, I might support them.
Report Ozymandius September 4, 2016 5:20 PM BST
Have never queried runner up medals.

My other annual chestnut is why yer man in the goals doesn't wear some protection? Even a pair of shin pads.  Macho peer pressure presumably. Should be obligatory.
Report GANT007 September 4, 2016 5:20 PM BST
Ozymandius/Rocketfingers......Poor bait.
Report Kelly September 4, 2016 5:20 PM BST
Great performance from Tipp , they played most of the hurling today . Cats obviously missing Michael Fennelly , would have been tighter with him there , but Tipp look like a team to follow for a while .
Report Ozymandius September 4, 2016 5:22 PM BST
It's not bait.  There is a reason every other sports victory speech starts with commiserating the opponent.  It's because it is the right and proper, respectful thing to do.

I think I might pen a letter to the powers that be.
Report Ozymandius September 4, 2016 5:25 PM BST
You will see the same poor etiquette after the football final.

Who is the Dublin Captain and how might I contact him with a word to the wise and a crash course in sporting etiquette.

P.S.  Sky Sports had some bore with a lisp co-commentating which did not add to the razzamatazz factor.  Enjoyable nonetheless.
Report GANT007 September 4, 2016 5:29 PM BST
A strongly worded letter to your local MP might help.
Report neill d September 4, 2016 5:37 PM BST
The same way Meath dislike Dublin GANT, I've huge regard for their ability as hurlers, though. I was really glad they won today, most deserving winners in years.
Report padlock September 4, 2016 5:50 PM BST
Wd winners , got that all wrong Crazy
Report Arklearkle September 4, 2016 6:17 PM BST
Kilkenny no full-back line and no forwards. Poor tactics from line should have played someone in front of full-back line. Can see the cats in decline for a few years as players not coming through from under-age.
Report kavvie September 5, 2016 10:30 AM BST
a superb spectacle in front of 82000 people. skill intensity physicality 53 scores..no sport comes close to it.no red yellow or black cards.reffed with intelligence by brian gavin.  seamus callinan 13 points ..unreal display.  bubbles let himself down a bit but maybe shoving a microphone into a players face straight after a game isnt a great idea..cody very sporting and dignified afterwards..a great day,..
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 1:03 PM BST
Agreed Kavvie.......It's always good when the anti GAA boys only complaint is the format of the winning captains speech.
Report jimeen September 5, 2016 2:00 PM BST
I actually thought it was a poor game, the first half was particularly scrappy, and the last 20 mins was a non event . It wouldn't hold a candle to the finals around the start of the decade. Once tipp went four points in front you could have turned it off, a comeback never looked likely. Kilkenny looked like they were jaded and maybe a lack of desire which is perfectly understandable was also a factor . It is a crazy world that at the same time yesterday evening , a tremendous athlete like Callinan was being rewarded with a medal and a dinner in the Burlington , while a fat immobile tattooed  scouser with the hair from a camels balls on his head was just opening his weekly cheque for 300k.
It's only in Ireland that people could stand for that.
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 3:22 PM BST
That's life Jimeen, fair play to Rooney getting well paid for something he loves doing.

What about Roddy Collins telling us that a lad does a head count before half time at Waterford's league of Ireland matches to see if the wages will be covered.......That's Ireland.
Report padlock September 5, 2016 3:23 PM BST
Lol who was it rooney ? Didn't watch sunday game. Skill level was down on classic finals for sure,Kk had no anserws or didnt change tactics or move players around in defence which seemed needed.
Report jimeen September 5, 2016 5:25 PM BST
Gant07, that's life if you are stupid enough to allow people to ride roughshod over you. We have a situation where the big attraction of the weekend in the capital city is without doubt the All Ireland hurling final. What would be the total take for the day for the Association ?, maybe 10m at a guess.
The main components are the players, without them then there's no spectacle . These people have given their lives for this day and on their big weekend they are forced to stay in sub standard hotels. Kilkenny stay in a place I wouldn't let my gear bag in, not to mind have my dinner in it.
These players should be staying in the 2 top hotels in the city, yet they are being short changed.
If the English soccer team came to Dublin, they wouldn't be staying in City West, you can bet your bottom dollar on that.
It's only a matter of time before the players call time on this kind of treatment .
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 6:37 PM BST
City West hotel
Report Rocketfingers September 5, 2016 6:46 PM BST
Thought it was a decent enough game, it will feel like a classic in 2 weeks time that for sure after we watch the grand final of the muck ball.
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 6:59 PM BST
Seething as usual. I hear the lights went again at the showgrounds, Delaney is right scrap the whole lot and set up a decent youth academy linked to English clubs.
Report Rocketfingers September 5, 2016 7:04 PM BST
Gant are you happy with the standard of gealic football? Just compare it to hurling, soccer or rugby it has been left behind my friend. You can't aford to run down any sport when your own is in absolute crisis. Far easier to get a ticket for the All Ireland football than hurling the past few years, that trend will only increase i am afraid to say or any other GAA football match, could be years before we see another one properly sold out.
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 7:18 PM BST
Your own league struggle to get 80000 in 3 months of fixtures. Club Rugby is struggling. Gaelic football is not perfect and we all know it. First step is admitting the problem.
Report Rocketfingers September 5, 2016 7:24 PM BST
Your coming in here and slating every other sport while your own game is being laughed out of it. You are having a pop at hurling fgs man it is a sport in a totally different league. And then having to lie and exaggerate to try and trod down other sports but it does not work. This weekend you will have 70 thousand at croker, most there for a day out, suree i would go if i was at home, few pints and then out in time to watch the prem game, can't beat it but don't think your sport is competing in our league. Now i am off to watch the national team play.
Report kavvie September 5, 2016 7:26 PM BST
rocket will ya get me two lower hogan tickets or alternatively 2 lower cusack around the half way line ..good man..you can pm me and ill arrange payment..thanks
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 7:33 PM BST
You are a log time beating the same drum, no wonder people flock to the UK to watch soccer matches. You lot hate the national team more than u hate the GAA. Look forward to the same conversation next year. Time to get the head out of the sand, the ladies GAA have gone past you.
Report Rocketfingers September 5, 2016 7:44 PM BST
I am out of the country Kav but that would be no issue lad if you really want them you'd get a half dozen with a couple of phone calls.
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 7:56 PM BST
When your luck is out Rocket, it sure is out. Bad enough the GAA getting stronger and then Ireland go and score an early goal.
Report kavvie September 5, 2016 8:00 PM BST

Kav wait until match day Kav, there will be ten a penny at face value lad. The corporates will be wanting to bring their big farming clients from down the country up for the weekend and they will spend.
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 10:34 PM BST
Chin up Rocketfingers, your day will come when the big companies take an interest. I hear SSE Airtricity want to sponsor the camogie next year, a step up for them I suppose.
Report Rocketfingers September 5, 2016 10:50 PM BST
God one, i hope you have stocked up on hang sandwiches and the pink snack, i hear that is what you lads are given the corporate farmers.
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 10:56 PM BST
Yes, us Irish love the hang sandwich and the pink snack. Washed down with a nice pint of milk.

Rocketfingers, it beats a few cans of cheap lager, a scrap and a sing song.
Report Rocketfingers September 5, 2016 11:00 PM BST
Or thowing misiles at a ref don't forget, you must have been out of the pink Shnack that day.
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 11:10 PM BST
That ref was released from hospital later that night.
Report Rocketfingers September 5, 2016 11:14 PM BST
It's probably been the highlight of the season, more skill shown by the fans hitting the ref from the stand than the players hand passing around the pitch.
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 11:21 PM BST
The ref reckoned the paper cuts were very painful.

Sure look it's probably the only gig in town during the summer.

Big opportunity for your league to take some of the crowd away from this awful game for years. Your crowds have gone down, why is this?.
Report Rocketfingers September 5, 2016 11:30 PM BST
That's a relief gant, still does not explain why the fans on the pitch show more skill than the lads on the pitch though does it?
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 11:34 PM BST
The fans on the pitch yesterday did nothing wrong. Nice to see both sets of fans mingling after a final.
Report Rocketfingers September 5, 2016 11:37 PM BST
Hurling fans always more dignified that your lads gant, thanks.
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 11:42 PM BST
Rocketfingers, Meath won the Christy Ring this year, we may be league of Ireland standard in soccer terms but we try hard.

Could a  Pat Dolan/Roddy Collins duo save your league?. They has some great ideas on how to take it back from the dead.
Report Rocketfingers September 5, 2016 11:46 PM BST
I knew that Hurling comment would get you, you don't like hurling Wink
Report Rocketfingers September 5, 2016 11:49 PM BST
night gant Cool
Report GANT007 September 5, 2016 11:56 PM BST
Meath hurling is on the up, with hard work you lads could do the same.

If I come up with any ideas I will pass them on to you. One tip, get the lights fixed in the showgrounds. We all know the crowd on Saturday night wanted to go home early to watch up for the match.
Report peckerdunne September 7, 2016 6:18 PM BST
Meath hurling is on the up thanks to all the Dubs who now coach in Meath and give up huge time voluntarily.
Report GANT007 September 8, 2016 10:32 AM BST
Peckerdunne.......Yes I agree, a few have got involved at juvenile level in some clubs.
