However the Olympic ticket fiasco concludes, we have seen two delicious examples of hubris- ->nemesis at play in some of the main 'actors'.
First -Mr.Ross. A short while ago he succumbed to his political ego and belittled the Attorney General's advice as 'just another opinion' .
Now he has to go crawling to the same AG to seek advice on how to deal with the current contretemps.
Second -Mr.Hickey . His hubristic thrust was to humiliate Mr.Ross ,an elected representative of the Irish people and a member of the Irish State apparatus .
Now ,having come close to doing a 'perp walk', he is glad to have the assistance of another wing of that same apparatus -the Irish Consular service.
Similar to the Greek exposition of 'tragedy' -we see in the Bible the injunction ' Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall'. [ Book of Proverbs 16:18]
