Putting up  12/1 winner on a gambling forum and still being completely ignored and shunned by the community at large.

Pleasing imo.

Lets be honest Ozy , some on here would hardly shake your hand if you gave them a million ! Indignity like beauty is in the eye of the beholder...The communitty at large have sailed away it seems , like spoiled children .Maybe some don't like the poster ,and we all have our favs ,I know I'm yours Love...Surely as the racing saying goes ,a winners a winner...
Report RoyalAcademy June 10, 2016 6:28 PM BST
c'mon Ozy, a tip based on someone's demise is hardly a good starting point.

fair dues to the boys - whoever they are - but kettle, pot and all that.
Report The Gotchee June 10, 2016 7:57 PM BST
In all fairnesss it was a good tip and it was posted early not  like your chums aftertiming stuff.
Credit where credit is due Ozy.

A winner is indeed a winner, Wonks, but you have to take a long term view, and class will out.   By not speaking, the forum has, spoken.
Report workrider June 10, 2016 8:35 PM BST
Ozy ,personalites are the bain of the forum as you know well , if a prince or a porper gives you a winner ,does it really matter .Lets just keep the winners coming .
Report Temlett June 10, 2016 8:53 PM BST
How could you back it though?

There has been no indication whatsoever that insideinfo is on top of the racing game (he may be) and there was no reasoning behind the selection. It might have been a complete fluke or it might not, but it is no different than standing in a bookies and some lad that you have seen in the place for months, comes over, points the complimentary pen at a horse and says that is a cert.
Report Ozymandius June 10, 2016 9:04 PM BST
You couldn't be more wrong, Wonks, it's never been abut Winners.  It's all about personalities, you are a good case in point.

Your congratulations on the thread stood out like a sore thumb.  In fact it brought to mind our nations telegram to the German nation commiserating on the death of Hitler.  Inappropriate and ill judged.  But then no one here would ever expect you to make a good decision....hence the entertainment value, hence why you are a Forum Hall of Famer.
Report The Gotchee June 10, 2016 9:11 PM BST
He posted the night before and advised 12/1 and it returned 7/1, so someone knew something.
Never have I seen Temlett question the drivel that callitafterucit use to put up.
A guy puts up a winner and there is an inquisition.  Strange.
Ozy is obviously seething.Laugh

have to agree gotchee! ozy looking rather foolish.not only does he have a problem with a guy tipping a 12/1 winner,he also has a problem with workrider congratulating him.
Report jasonk178. June 10, 2016 9:37 PM BST
by the way,well done inside!
Report Temlett June 10, 2016 10:07 PM BST
I have never congratulated callit either as I rarely read the golf (since they became a plethora of stuff like tee times - that I read on the internet and Tour sites anyway)it and don't like the "this is an incredible price" or "this is an outstanding bet", type of bullishness when the stake then turns out to be smaller than some of the "ordinary bets" (Boo Weekley was one where he turned out to be a smaller bet than the rest of the selections from memory).

I, like Ozy & Mincer here, just read the forum to see what messing is going on rather than worrying about the winners and the losers.

Report wildmanfromborneo June 11, 2016 10:20 AM BST
Actually it did the opposite to what the once again returning opening poster claimed.

It showed him to be dignified.
Not for him the jumping up and down saying when your good your good ( Ozymandius )
Not for him the festooning of a thread with booms ( Rocketfingers )

Their shouting and booming is rare so mainly they did it after they after timed.

I prefer selections with a write up,follow Irish racing so don't know the English horses that well,I didnt know the beast won.

Still you got to hand it to him a 12/1 winner provided and no over the top celebrations.
Report Ozymandius June 11, 2016 10:31 AM BST
No, very subdued, he has barely been on since, let alone every 5 minutes, lauding it over quality posters and talking about their family members.

A dignified response alright. From a class act.  It could have been worse of course...he could have sad 'Boom' Cry

You should stop and think before you post occasionally, Borneo.  Contrarian for contrarians sake.
Report workrider June 11, 2016 10:45 AM BST
Ozy, been a businessman as you often tell us ,I'll correct myself ,a INTERNATIONAL businessman, surely you can see the benefit of keeping personalites out of business. In case you forgot , business is about profit and a 12/1 winner is PROFIT in anyones language .
Report wildmanfromborneo June 11, 2016 10:50 AM BST
He puts up a horse at 12/1 that wins at 7/1 he leaves it at that,no crowing that's dignified.

If Rocketfingers or yourself had done this ye would have gone berserk.
Ye first would have been on before the race demanding thanks because the horse shortened with little comments about its all about beating the market and greening up.
After it won we would have feared for your sanity as the crowing and booming would spread to nearly every thread on here

Thankfully there is nothing for us to worry about as between ye ye have never managed a winner over 5/1 never mind one at double figures.
The after timed 33/1 on Big Brother doesn't count.
Report Ozymandius June 11, 2016 11:01 AM BST
that last post s a great example of why I have little or no interest in the forum anymore.  Lies presented as fact..your trademark..if I challenge you on them, more lies will just be produced, the old moving the goal posts charade.  So there is no point in getting into a tit for tat exchange..a complete waste of time and energy.

At the end of the day, you lack integrity.
Report wildmanfromborneo June 11, 2016 11:15 AM BST
For someone with no interest you weren't half fast out of the blocks to reply to my first contribution.

Your not capable of rational discussion, your points are just regurgitated sound bites followed by some pictures.
It was your inability to think on your feet that I found alarming.

You tried to ape Alain Charnier, were unsuccessful, others have been taken in by you but I just see you for what you are an uncouth vulgarian.

No offence to anyone but some factors need to be factored into this economic equation.

First of all it could have been a lucky pick. But lets say it was not. Getting on at 12/1 for a genuine 7/1 chance does not really float my boat if your going to make such a big deal about it as an event credity of so much publicity.  The difference in something with a true probability of 12/1 and 7/1 is not that great in terms of expected equity % and that's assuming there was a 100% book on the race and without any knowledge I think its highly unlikely there was a 100% book. This is only guesswork but I would suspect the book on the race was at least over round. This is a tax which needs to b factored in to this equation.
Report huddys June 22, 2016 8:51 AM BST
It also needs to be taken into that the overnight favourite plus a couple of other were non runners, which ruled out any supposed 'edge'or market beating from inside clown!!!

There was a shipwreck and the only survivors were a man, a sheep and a sheepdog, twas a deserted island.
Many months passed and the 3 companions got into the habit each evening of watching the spectacular sunsets on the island.
One evening it was a special night, the sky was russet and a warm breeze,a perfect night for romance.
As they set there the sheep started to look better and better to the man and he leaned over to put his arm around it,the ever protective sheepdog however growled fiercely until the man took his arm away.
After that there was no more cuddling but they still enjoyed the sunsets together, this continued til lo and behold there was was another shipwreck and the only survivor Mary Lou Mac Donald made her way up the beach.
The next evening another beautiful evening with a warm and gentle breeze, the man again was getting romantic feelings again.
He tried to fight the urge but had to confide to Mary Lou that he hadn't sex for months, Mary Lou fluttered her eyelashes and asked was there anything she could do for him.
After a pause the man asked Mary would ya mind taking the dog for a walk.

Anything she says i'd take, she would be right.

Anyway without knocking the Irish team they had a great 1st half and just went too defensive early in the 2nd, a right downer overall, throw in Eddystone Rock and its hard to be the life and soul.
Report workrider June 26, 2016 7:40 PM BST
Pa had great word for Eddystone ,thought it had a chance with a furlong to run but it wasn't to be , small enough crowd there today , Sea The Stars free bees galore , they were jumping from the match to the races all afternoon and had a starwars stage which would drive you nuts listening to it...Thought I saw Rocket climbing onto the stage ,I could be wrong ....Laugh
