Just thought i would start a thread even though it is a couple of weeks away and i have started to have a few punts already. I make the French favs as do most bookies to all bookmakers however some have them joint with the Germans, for me with home advantage they be alone at the top of the market though. However i don't think there is any value at the current odds, with no Sakho & Varane being out now i think defensively they look a bit suspect now.

Anyway my way of thinking so far is that i don't think Portugal are to far ahead of Austria as a side in the first place so i would nearly make them a bet straight regardless, however Ronaldo did not look fit in the UCL final and has been rumoured to be carrying an injury for the past month or so, with the Euros 15 days away for both sides, it's not too difficult to see him not being fully fit for it, 9/4 for Austria to top their group is a decent price imo.

Also backed Austria at 40's EW as i think they're overpriced, they qualified very well top a group that contained Russia and Sweden.

Same applies to Croatia, they're way overpriced for me with a squad that contains Modric, Rakitic, Kovacic, Mandzukic at 29/1 EW to win it and then 7/2 to win their group that contain Spain.

I think Ireland have a chance to get of their group, if the big man for Sweden is not in top form don't see any reason we can't turn them over but no bet for me at the moment. Probably have a few more bets with the squads are finalised and the friendlies are done & dusted.

Interesting how that Belgium side go padlock, i'm a bit unsure about them i must say, i think like every side they're beatable & you can pick holes in them but i would not put anyone off from betting them either, i think they were 14's to win the world cup 2 years ago in Brazil and they probably have a better & mature side now, you don't have the south americans and it's played very close home for them so i think 12's is ok. Kompany is a loss & would not want any more injuries back there because i think the defensive squad players look weak but when you look at the side it's stil decent enough imo.

*made a mistake there im on germany/france @ 19 not 14
Hazard is coming into form but dont think belgium will fancy playing ireland or italy and they dont strike me as having a together squad, trouble in camp bit like holland in the past, pondering backing turkey to get out of group D ,went to the aviva last week for the open training day and squad seem very focused and together,o'neil better gameplans than trappatoni and hopefully get win v sweden ,pity we dont have any classy defenders though but clever use of brady, hoolahan might swing sweden game imo.

Workrider i put a 10e on Rooney at 50/1 to be top goalscorer he looks like he will play every game and he is likely to take Englands peno;s and frees, i have a feeling that England will go deep in EURO 2016,  About time to.

Already on the French for this as I posted elsewhere on this. Many won't have been impressed but I reckon they sometimes play to the level of the opposition a little. They should keep it simple and play quickly wide to whatever vombination of their top class wingers Deschamps chooses.

Personally, would love to see Payet play off the front with Martial to the left and Coman right. Coman is frighteningly quick as we saw when he knocked and ran when he came in.

Think we will see the best of France later on when the 3 beasts in the middle are driving the German and Spanish midfielders to distraction.

Physically some of these French guys are the same at 90 minutes as they are at 10. They can win it with this along with sublime interventions like Payets. Not sure they will ever be that fluid. But they can bludgeon their way there if need be.

Payets reaction coming off, given its complete context, was pretty f ucking beautiful.

The ITV coverage was excellent, positive and upbeat. The soccer boys on RTE always seem to be on a downer, grim reaper style coverage.

Simple - Do not watch RTE..

Rooney is 50/1 for a reason, look at how many goals he has at major tournaments, add that to the fact he's no use and will be playing in midfield, should be a million.

I'm going for over 3.5 goals at 5/2 in the Germany/ Ukraine match. I thnnk there is a lot of talent in the German team and ukraine have been playing well lately.

Portugal ,pretty poor imo. Ronaldo is a great club player ,not really a great player for his Country .These players have become too rich and have lost all contact with the real world ,he seems more concerned with his looks than scoring goals . This habit of smiling when he deems a wrongs been done to him is irritating to say the least. I doubt those that live in Portugal believe he puts it in for them.
