Was gearing myself up to back Oosthuizen but drifting like a barge, somebody might know something, so leaving be. Only backed Harrington on win market so far @ 260. Hard tournament to get head around, have a look again the morning.

Jordan Spieth is the undoubted class act, and big draw this week. The reason I hadn't put up my bets yet is I still haven't decided whether I am backing the world number one yet. He arrives as defending champion off an identical result as last year in Doral. He simply doesn't have the length to compete there, unless his putter was absolutely red hot.
This is much more a thinking mans course, and though Jordan certainly hasn't been at his brilliant best this calendar year, this is the first course where he wouldn't have a ready made excuse going into the week. Not his debut, not Poa Annua greens, and not a bombers paradise. Very few of the top 50 players in the field, yet we have a price only a point shorter than he is for the Masters. I think I'm talking myself into it!!

I caught some good value on Monday.
First up was Jason Dufner. He has already done me a favour this year, and is in my Masters ante post portfolio. He played very well last week, on a course which wouldn't have been a perfect fit. 40-1 was far too big in a field with little strength in depth. The one worry is it is his 6th week on the trot, but Duff is a far fitter animal than in previous years.
I was on Graeme McDowell last week, and he cost me a payout on the Top 20 market with an ugly 8 on the last. He also made 7 on the par 5 10th. He gave up 6 shots to the field there, and that took the gloss of a very good performance on a course which had him on the back foot from the outset. It showed though that he is right in saying his game is coming together, and though making his debut here, he will relish tackling a course that could have been made for him. I really fancy him here.

Harris English has been struggling to get back to the winners enclosure for awhile now. I thought he might struggle over the weekend at Doral, having been sometime since he faced that heat. He has disappointed here the last two years, but such is his current consistency, at 66-1 he was a cracking bet.

do you think reed might be carrying an injury? I know he pulled out of a tournament recently
Spieth worthy fav and back able in a weakish field but rarely back at those prices so added last year's 54 hole leader R Moore who has 3 top 10's already this year from half a dozen starts. Rumours of an injury for Oosthuizen predicated drift but chanced him as he was my original main pick having played well last week in the main.

Uilhein recovered from a poor round 2 due to sickness to post a decent 69, including missing a few tiddlers.

Jimmy walker and shane lowry are very harsh as well imo. I'd have charlie hoffman a lot higher in the list I think. Cabrera Bello one player you missed out on, Huddys often backs him and must be tearing his hair out watching him on a sunday.

Vegas would certainly be up there, he fell in that time he won in a play-off.
Brendan Jonge another one who would be very high in the list. I haven't seen him on a leaderboard in a while. Anytime he got near the top of the leaderboard, he sh!t his pants.

It's a fascinating topic you've started lewisham. The money that these guys are getting is obscene and you could count the amount of wins they have between them on one hand. I don't complain about the money people from other sports like soccer get because they negotiate their wages but the golfers are getting huge money just for showing up.
