Maria Sharapova is using legal medication for years. It gets banned but she uses it in a 25 day period that causes her to fail a drug test, its an obvious mistake.
Yet they are all adopting their Madame DeFarge pose, first out the disloyal Paul Kimmage.
The onus on any professional sportsperson is to maximise their potential by whatever legal means possible. That is all she did, technically.
I do think she should receive a ban for failing the latest dope test, however Them's the rules. But the ban should be for as short a time as possible.

In theory Sharapova is beautiful, (Tall, blonde, in shape and a willing grunter,) but somehow I find her rather plain looking and lacking sex appeal.
I'd shovel meself into Serena. In theory Sharapova is beautiful, (Tall, blonde, in shape and a willing grunter,) but somehow I find her rather plain looking and lacking sex appeal.
i was of the opinion that she had innocently taken it etc as stated above, but i read this morning that its been the "drug of choice" for years for russian sports people..it increases endurance capabilities.very popular in ethiopia amongst marathon runners also...as for the williams brothers i feel ozy and callit have a fantasy of 4 in a bed with them!!

Ah she is a cheat no doubt. I would say the vast majority in the sport are rotten with Drugs.
As for Serena id say she would destroy anyone in the sack. Would love to smash my balls off her.

Something like 25% of russian athletes tested had it in there system where the rest of the world was 2% tells you all you need to know really. This drug wasn't been used as a treatment for a heart condition. Maria never ever stated problems with her heart. It's a performance enhancing drug which was rightly banned. While she only took it for a while when it was banned it makes really no difference. She took it while it was banned. She deserves some sort of ban but make no mistake while this medicine was legal athletes where using it for endurance enhancement.
Chemist's are always ahead of the tester's and are always looking for ways to help athlete's. Epo was only discovered by a whistle blower sending a sample to a lab. Tennis only started doing proper blood testing last year. I think up until 2013 Novak had only had one blood test in his life. Like other sports they don't really want to find the cheats as it damages the sport. Tennis is massive on endurance and their is no way given all the positive tests in cycling and athletics that their should have so little positive tests. They are not looking hard enough.

A ban is the most likely Scenario, gives Maria more time with her young Bulgarian, may even ask Navratilova to spice things up , on the other hand Maybe not.

Do you mean someone who takes illegal performance enhancing drugs?
OR
Do you mean someone who takes non-prohibited performance enhancing drugs?
OR
Both, i.e no distinction between the two.
