1.55 JETSTREAM JACK @6/4
has won over trip and ground..ive always liked this one and I,ll be disappointed if he carnt beat the mullins horse getting 3LB.. |
|
By:
Surely an each way bet on Min will be the recommendation.
|
|
By:
I thought Jetstream Jack fell in in Clonmel,Ruby knows all about him.
Thomas Hobson will like the extra half mile and will be better schooled, not a natural jumper but should dance in here. |
|
By:
we,ll see Wildman, just cos ruby rode him doesent mean hobson will beat it?..at the prices im happy to take the favourite on going up in trip on this ground(heavy)last time he ran on anything like it he fell...just for the record ruby was very complimentary about the horse..but its about opinions.
|
|
By:
I'm very poor at pricing races but I thought Jetstream Jack would be much bigger than 6/4
I also thought Thomas Hobson would be odds on. |
|
By:
Wonks, dont know much about your selection but from my experiences anything that runs after winning its maiden in points is very rarely any use.
Basically the more points they win, the less use they are. The yoke it dead heated with in kinsale isnt worth a squirt of a nanny goats pisss, thats all i can tell ya. |
|
By:
tbh I thought jet would be touch bigger..

Mincer whats your opinion on Thomas Hobson
|
|
By:
Too close to call. All depends on the day, and who is allowed the customary 10 length lead at the start. The "starter" will, naturally, turn the obligatory blind eye and allow the "race" to continue.
|
|
By:
Mincer I'd tend to agree with you re the p2p . Another minus is the drop back in trip ,suppose I'm trying to out smart the trainer always a dangerous thing .He has another one Sir Abbot for JP earlier, might have a little nibble e/w on that as well ...

|
By:
You open a thread tipping a horse win and place and at the rate your going you will be laying it by racetime , the indecision is frightening
|
|
By:
On a line through Archive you would say TH is a cert, don't think JJ was off a yard at Galway however.JJ's maiden win wasn't the strongest race and TH on his last run seems way above anything JJ has done. Bit disappointed with TH's finish at Navan, the ears went back after he cruised into the straight and jumped the 3rd last awkward(bit of a trait).
All in all i'd have to go with Thomas Hobson as well. |
|
By:
Did slickster just reply for mincer to Wildman question,?

I will give you my honest opinion Dan on that race first and as a one off i will give it for every race tomorrow in punchestown, but it wont be till 9.30 ish.
Back to the Thomas Hobson race , now first and foremost its the biggest two hand reel of all time. Powers 5/4 was extremely generous in my book, they go 8 each of two High Stratos and Mick Thonic, and both of them are a million. Its a hard one to call in all fairness, Thomas is a messy jumper and will never have encountered ground that deep, also i never really thought Three Stars was a whole load, and i still dont so its form the last day may not be that great because Tycoon Prince certainly underperformed. Jetstream Jack won a Clonmel maiden hurdle very easily but it was a bad race, i actually backed sizing alberta ew and it was a very laboured second, it really is a slow basstard, so there was no real merit in that victory. He seems to relish deep ground though and in a quagmire he'd have to be very dangerous, and herein lies the key to the race in my book. On ground no worse than soft its Hobson for me, but if its heavy then the pendulum starts to swing and i would abstain. As Ruby has ridden both horses last time out, you'd expect the market to be informative. |

By:
I'd be in the Thomas Hobson camp. I think he will improve for the step up in trip and softer ground. Price is big imo.

To make it easy for ye lads....
The second race is between Chute Hall and He Rocks. |

By:
I would also be in the Thomas Hobson camp.
Tycoon Prince clearly didn't give his running the last day, so he can be omitted from any analysis. Which means it probably wasn't a great race all told. But TH pulled like an absolute c**t for over a mile and a half. Look at the amount of rein Ruby has in his hands jumping the flight 7fur out. He was still tanking 3 out. Given how much energy he wasted, I actually made it quite a good effort to have finished the race off as well as he did. It could be viewed that the step up in trip tomorrow would be a negative, as if he pulled like that over 2m, he should be worse going a 2m4f gallop. I would be prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. I think Ruby will pop him out in front and that he will settle a lot better there. Its also quite possible that he was just too fresh that day. Either way, I don't think it will be an issue tomorrow. I think there is little doubt he is a better horse than Jetstream. And the extra distance should eke out some improvement. Nor do I think the ground is an issue(as long as he settles) His jumping was a bit sketchy, but again that wasn't helped by his over exuberance, and Ruby trying to yank him back. 11-10 is big IMO. |

could you please keep your garbage off a proper racing thread
I personally would also go for hobson as wildman said it was a nothing race jetstream won last time however I wouldnt rule out Harringtons horse has some good bumper form |

I will give you 11-10 I'm Wasp.
Unfortunately as a two horse race, Its win only. But seeing as you're so confident, it should be a good bet. I'm sure there are plenty on here who can verify who I am, and who Wasp is. Any money you lose I will donate to a charity of Tonys choice. Come on now son, you're sure you're right aren't you??? |

This will be my last reply to you, its ruining threads, and you're too thick to be wasting time on. If you're so sure why don't you have the wager? I tell you what, you don't even have to wager. I will give Tony a grand to donate to whatever charity he sees fit, if you somehow prove I'm Wasp. Or Snap. Or Mincer. Jog on now boy, 1k, t's surely worth the effort?? |

If Ruby wants to lead, he will, up to himself & it would be a great sign. You'd imagine they've worked on getting him to settle since. The only thing that will get Hobson beat is his jumping as he should see this out on his flat stuff without a bother in the world. he's a talented flat horse and with the way Mullins has gone in some pretty serious flat handicaps, the fact he is continuing over hurdles is probably a tip in itself. He must be more likely than not to win, just on the basis that he is there, having never shown a particular knack for jumping & Ruby knowing Jetstream.
|
|
By:
Sure wouldn't anything half decent that would ever win a 2 mile novice hurdle neat the same rivals at 2-and-a-half at this kind of level, really like. Unless you are talking grade 1 kind of stamina kicking in. Hobson should murder em'!

Lisclogher is as wayward as Gobshees selections Easy. He could have ran out by the first. I imagine the other pilots will ignore him, and Ruby will set the pace for the 'race'.
And as Neil says, if they have decided he will settle better in front, Ruby will take him there(granted Lisclogher doesn't go off like a scalded cat, if he does he can be ignored, and TH can dictate from second). If they feel happy they have resolved his free going tendency from the last day, then Ruby can ride it as he sees it. Anyway, give us an ould opinion there pre race.......it's been awhile........I wonder why.....mmmmmmmmmm??????????????? |

If if if if if if.......... if he does that ..... Ruby will do that...... and if he does that Ruby will do that.......... all about an Even money shot............. FFS.... get a grip....... So what....
