really ??
Report tony57 November 26, 2015 5:38 PM GMT
3.15 ballyhenry @6/1
won 2 bumpers which surprised his trainer but is a chaser of the future but is well up to winning decent races over hurdles for ben pauling
2.05 MAXIMISER @9/2
comes from a tiny yard in the north of England took a few scalps over hurdles I was @haydock last season when he beat a nicholls hot pot..i backed him on debut over fences @Carlisle he went down to silsol (who won again since)im hoping hes come on for the debut.
Musselburgh
2.20 CHITU
has fair bumper form for the crawfords, if he can transfer that to hurdles then 5/1 here is fair imo..although the yards form is not great
best of luck to all..
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y November 26, 2015 5:39 PM GMT
i am not sure if i have misunderstood what you mean to be honest
Report dj876 November 26, 2015 5:45 PM GMT
I think it's a very moderate card for what is supposed to be a decent meeting,a grade 2 chase,3 handicaps and 3 non-handicap hurdle races -novice,maiden and juvenile

Today's bumper at Newbury had prize money of £1689 to the winner which is a  shambolic state of affairs.
Report tony57 November 26, 2015 5:46 PM GMT
if that's your opinion dj then fine..i think its a cracker of a card with some really decent novices running
Report dj876 November 26, 2015 5:49 PM GMT
I don't mean any offense Tony but I can't see how a card with one graded race (only a moderate grade 2) is the best card outside of the festival.
Report tony57 November 26, 2015 6:02 PM GMT
ive explained what I mean dj..the juvenile race king and skelton think a lot of there's moores already won @sandown,the handicap hurdle is a decent race, the novice chase is fine, the handicap chase is probably the poorest race..the 2 novice races imo are crackers?, so I carnt agree that its poor fare dj..I like the novice division and that's why I think the card decent
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y November 26, 2015 6:04 PM GMT
Are you honestly saying you have not seen a better card this side of the festival? As that is quite frankly ludicrous
Report Bigwillystyle November 26, 2015 7:21 PM GMT
Tony to be honest any Sunday card in Ireland would be miles better than the dross there tomorrow.
Report Rocketfingers November 26, 2015 7:36 PM GMT
Heading to Newbury tomorrow, i have to say thought it a fairly ordinary card or maybe better put a little disappointing. The OP is utterly clueless when it comes to racing or any sort of betting as per his reasoning to back a short priced fav at Cheltenham a few weeks ago.
Report kavvie November 26, 2015 7:39 PM GMT
i suppose that why he has his own successful web page on sbb columns rocket?!!?  i know the one whos clueless...  did u ever back a short priced fav that lost!?!? why was it short priced in the first place?did u ridicule him before the race as you knew it wouldnt win?
Report dj876 November 26, 2015 7:44 PM GMT
Tony's not a bad sort to be fair (as much as you can glean on here) and probably just didn't express himself very clearly.

I think he's looking forward to the card eagerly tomorrow because there are plenty of horses with potential such as the festival bumper third.

I think he probably meant that it is potentially an informative card but enthusiasm got the better off him in terms of quality.

He has got plenty right on here recently and at decent prices.
Report Rocketfingers November 26, 2015 7:47 PM GMT
Ha Kavvie showing his gross ignorance as it actually won Kavvie, I really like Tony as a person Kavvie but i am not sure if you were having a pop at Tony there yourself by presuming it lost Laugh. Anyway there was no need to ridicule him as enough were already kicking him on the ground, if this guy tips up horses god help SBB followers, he would be a great guy i am sure to go out for a night in a club with very loud music.
Report kavvie November 26, 2015 7:56 PM GMT
im not having a pop at anyone except you..tonys sound and well informed.whether the horse won or lost is beside the point..
Report Rocketfingers November 26, 2015 8:07 PM GMT
How is he? Anyone who wrote what he wrote about that horse as well as insisting that this is a top card tomorrow, well their judgment must surely be questioned as well as their time studying the form. I would love this to be a great card as i am there myself with some mates but it's not, it is laughable to suggest it is, fgs it has only one graded race on it.
Report mincer11 November 26, 2015 8:30 PM GMT
Rocketfingers, watching it in a betting shop doesnt really equate to actually being there, and the other headbangers in the shop do not qualify as mates.
Report neill d November 26, 2015 10:16 PM GMT
12:25, Nicholls probably slept on the best of the French Market in recent times, can see his buyers efforts to right that bearing fruit here with soft ground Vichy winner Copain de Classe (2/1). I like the sire Enrique who the shrewd Brian Gleeson isn't afraid to use.

PFN loves a bit a hype around his yard (misses it I'd say) & I could see this being one of his better juveniles he has with the best of the other yards not out yet. If this gets beat I probably won't back one of his juveniles till Feb! Could just see this being useful at the least with the trainer wanting to make a statement at a big track.

12:55: Mon Successeur (9/4) was probably getting over a hard race over fences when not really at his best over flights last time in a tough race. This looks calmer waters and he has a nice weight-for-age allowance. He's a better chaser, anyway.

1:25: Activial's (11/4) hurdling for is beyond reproche & if Aux Petites Soins is as good as Nicholls thinks he is, that for is super tuff in the context of this. Fry will have him hard for this Grade 2, he showed his capability in this regard with Youknowwhatimeanharry.

Maximiser looks a lovely horse, but I thought he had the very tough and capable Silsol nailed. Reckon he might have had too hard of a race there coming back less than 3 weeks later.

2:40: Howlongisafoot (7/1): Like the way this lad travels through his races and he seems to have strengthen up from last year. 7lb more & a better race but he's the type physically that carrying 11 stone in a decent handicap wouldn't faze. Probably had a wind op.

3:15: Minella Awards (9/2): Henderson has talked about getting "his nice novice hurdlers out" lately (Monday he unleashed a decent one). this fella was beaten in his point, but has top owners so they musty think he has something. Champers on ice ran into one last time in Mulhollands, he'd have had a hard time there and Pipe's ain't been pulling up trees.

3:45: If the fav in the bumper was ridden and trained by any other combo, I'd probably back it. I find Hobbs too hard to fathom and don't like johnson on debutants over an obstacle.

Once again, tony the foul mouthed scouser proving to us all what he knows about racing. ZILCH. By Newbury standards, this is a distinctively average card, at best.
What ya gonna do tony? Give Betfair another ring?

Kindly post you bets on that thread if you care to enter, and if you must, keep the creepy insults to this thread.

How long does the hapless Rocketfingers think the train will take to get there.

Forty years ago it took less than two hours.

Good luck today everyone.   I certainly agree with Tony on Ballyhenry.   I put it up on the main forum last night at 6/1.   Been steadily packed since.

Also had a small ew bet on Top Gamble at 14/1.   Conditions to suit today and if you forgive the last run can go well.

I will be there at 11, i need to get down to the course anyway.

Wildman, he is just getting on a train that is leaving now at 9:42 so obvioulsy Tony thinks he has to turn of the phone

As pointed out above, I think Tony's enthusiasm got the better of him in the opening post. It's another grand days racing with four potentially informative races as regards the big novice races.

The non runners have detracted somewhat from the finale but it will be interesting to see if Wait For Me can justify the hype.

if you had 2 ambulances driving around after you as you work im sure you would like to maximise your earnings also..!!

I had to rub my eyes in disbelief at the above post which was written in defence of Smelly Kelly on the HR forum. Them poor old flat jockeys are risking life and limb on a daily basis hence it's only reasonable to expect them to maximise their earnings.

This will be my last reply on this.

Maybe I should refresh your memory of the scenario when the credit bet was struck.

KR had one selection left and trailed Pa by around 8-12 points and you struck an even grand with him on him winning the comp.

Now in the name of god why would he have a grand at evens rather than on the selection which had to be a double figure price to collect.

A bet you could only ever pay out on,never have I seen that level of naivety.

Lovely course Newbury, i actually thought there was a far better view from the grandstand rather than going to the premier enclosure. I thought the winner of the first looked quality, impressed by the winner of the last and Three Musketeers, will have to make a trip back to Newbs for sure.
