Used to to the Curragh every meeting but not anymore. Its a very cold spot even in the summer and it will be colder if that new stand is anything to go by. That roof wont give much cover when the wind is blowing. Unless of course one is in one of the boxes behind the glass.

That roof will be off with the first strong wind.
Do ordinary racegoers not get stand cover? |

JP/Coolmore (one entity really)are sponsoring a third of it. Great contribution for the industry but should the normal punter greet it with enthusiasm?
A new stand for the punters but I would prefer an improvement in the impartial stewarding of for example fillies pattern races. The untouchables just become more untouchable (if that's possible) |

Hopefully masterchefs are retained, a really excellent catering company.

Do Masterchefs look after the loos their as well as the catering?

Never heard an Irishman use that gentile expression for a toilet.
Hope they have a kennel for that fussy Alsatian. All now seem to watch the racing on either the giant screens or TVs so don't see the need for these huge elaborate grandstands. |
|
By:
'Toilet' is a ghastly word and should be avoided. I believe the Middletons were almost shown the door at The Palace for using the term. 'Loo' is rather Middle Class. I use the term 'lavatory' and suggest that the forum adopts it as standard.

Dan, was forced to sample the grub at a grade 1 track within the last month.
Was very hungry so I had little choice and it truly was an unforgettable experience . Without hesitation I would say it was the worst meal I've had this century, and it was a rob too for the shiite that I got. Had a glance at the fare in Punchestown at the last two day meeting , the sausages were bigger than John Holmes, and he had a serious weapon. |

Fawning over a couple of tax exiles who have done precious little for Irish racing. Maybe, if they paid their taxes in this country, like most decent Irishmen, the government would be able to refurbish every racetrack in the country. |

You're the thickest yoke on here without a doubt. Galileo has never produced a decent miler, FRANKEL Only one Gotcheeeeeee, a grade one bellend if there ever was one |
|
By:
Frankel was a freak, no doubt about that but his optimum trip was 1m 2f.
Give me 5 top class milers (not two year olds) Galileo has produced. I know you have difficulty with dyscalculia but use the 5 fingers on your hand, that might help. I know you are still hurting over the Doncaster Thread but try and put that behind you. ![]() |
|
By:
You're an imbecile and very few on here bother with you in the slightest (presume that you're used to people ignoring you in the real world too)
Here's your post In fairness, he is a good stallion but has he ever produced a decent sprinter/ miler? Plenty go the national hunt route and as you can see from the leger entries he will create a record this year for a stallion by supplying the most progeny in the oldest classic. Nothing to write home about. Now if you don't think FRANKEL was a decent miler then you really are beyond help. |
|
By:
There’s no point going down the rabbit hole with The Gotchee. He came back after making the above post (possibly the most idiotic in the history of the forum) that only pure milers counted. Therefore, a horse like Frankel who won over further doesn’t count. There was a list a mile long of Galileo sired Group One winners posted on the other thread. Apparently they were also discounted for not being single distance freaks.
I also don’t know how anyone could argue 10f was his optimum trip. He ran 14 times with a dozen of those between 7f & 1m. His final two races where over 10f. His best run in any money was the Queen Anne in which he dismissed a top class Excelebration with incredible ease. |
|
By:
Answer the question that was posed. No one doubting the ability of Franlel but his optimum distance was 1m 2F. Still you avoid the question that was posed.
Name 5 top class 3 year old plus milers he has produced? Another easy question which will further embellish the point I am trying to make. What is the average winning distance of the progeny of Galileo? Call me all the names you like but at the end of the day, you know you have lost the argument when you start the personal abuse. Good Night ![]() |
|
By:
You are out of your depth TelltheKing. You would be better off going to bed. Unless, you can answer the questions posed?
|
|
By:
Has there ever been a stallion to produce 5 individual Group 1 winning milers at 3 yrs and upward? Galileo is there off the top of my head, I can't think of any other, not in the time I'm following Racing anyway. It's a phenomenally high level to attain. Maybe Saddlers Wells did it?
|
|
By:
Could see Dubawi doing it maybe. Read somewhere that Coolmore have even started buying a few of his.

|
By:
Ah s hit, think I say somwhere as well that the dam Loveisallyouneed was one that this guy Richard Henry (works in Coolmore advertising) should never have parted with in the first place when he sold her to Newsells. It was this element rather than Dubawi that led them to go all out for the filly foal.
|
|
By:
Gotchee you seem confused. No-one really considers Galileo to be a miler sire. He’s a middle distance stallion based on his pedigree and track record. Most of his offspring are bred to be middle distance horses. However, he is such a phenomenal sire that he has thrown umpteen Group One winners over a mile despite how you try and discredit this known fact.
People have taken umbrage with you because, in the haste of making yet another rant about Coolmore, you threw out an instant classic as far as idiotic statements go. Instead of being man enough to admit your error you continued to sail forth, couching your argument via non sensical parameters. Anyone with a brain cell can see you backed yourself into a corner and it’s been almost embarrassing watching you try to squirm your way out via an array of bolshy statements and emoticons. You ain’t fooling anyone though. |

Both very angry and abusive. Both out of their depth. |

Actually, they are both intelligent and perceptive. And as you said yourself, just yesterday; 'you know you have lost the argument when you start the personal abuse'

Oh dear the gobshee trying to knock frankel and galileo. I have heard it all now

You must be very sensitive Gotchee. I would say my two posts were very fair and measured. I also dissected your statement on Galileo rather than attacking you personally. Don't see any abuse in the contents of my posts.
I have seen you repeatedly revert to the same stock response (i.e. Anyone that doesn't agree with you is wrong / All posters that disagree with you are the one person). It's remarkable that someone old enough to hold an online betting account can be so dim. To answer your query on the G man, the following are five horse who produced top class form over one mile as 3yo's (this is not to say they were pure milers, I hope you can appreciate the difference) 1) Frankel 2) Gleneagles 3) Magician 4) Rip Van Winkle 5) Lush Lashes. |
|
By:
No top class dedicated miler in that list.
Try again. You conveniently swerved my other question. Just because you disagree with someone's opinion doesn't give you the right to turn into a bully. HGD |
|
By:
There are very very few top class 'dedicated trip' horses Gotchee.
It could only be viewed as a negative if they were that one dimensional. Frankel was a top class miler. He had two runs over further, one beating a rival that was nowhere near his league and in the other his class got him home against CDA. He was certainly more impressive over a mile. On numerous occasions. Moving the goalposts to 'dedicated' milers is utter boll*x. As is your usual retort when you have no sensible reply to an argument which put you to the wall....."they must be the same person". |
|
By:
Think I'll get off the train here Gotchee. My shoes are far too nice to get covered in dirt standing beside you digging the hole even deeper.
There is ample evidence on this thread of what kind of brainpower you possess. Takes a certain kind of person to make the argument you've made. I am genuinely flummoxed how can you reconcile making the assertion that horses like the five I listed (all proven Group One horses over a mile) don't count because they were capable of performing to an equal standard over 10f-12f. As Callit says, it should be seen as a positive that they are adaptable. I have no idea what the average winning distance of Galileo is. I expect somewhere in the region of 10f-12f. This is a complete non sequitur though in relation to your original statement. I would say there isn't a stallion in the UK or Ireland that has sired what you would term five dedicated Group One milers with the only one coming close being Dubawi (I wouldn't count that bandit racing in Meydan). I dont know what all the fuss about Galileo, lads address, JP/Coolmore and dirty shoes have to do with the question as to wheather Masterchief are going to be the loo cleansers at the new grandstand, according to mincer there is going to be some rather large sausages to be got rid of..

Is it definitely Masterchefs that currently provide the catering? The current guise of that company is largely Munster based with the original Masterchefs (Dublin based) having entered liquidation several years ago.
Haven't entered the eating area in a racecourse in 2015, the one New Year's Resolution I kept. |
